This has been an underperforming team all year let’s be real, hot start was propped up by a strong power play in October and a hot start from Necas. Been a team that have been stuck on a spectrum of bad to decent since Thanksgiving. Aho and Svech look like non impact players who aren’t even close to passing any sort of eye test when it comes to tilting the ice and have only picked up points during individual moments of skill shining through.
I think it’s fair to say we’ve reached a point where we’re allowed to say that the coaching staff as constructed isn’t living up to the billing of getting the best out of a talented group. Doesn’t mean Rod has to go necessarily, but they might have to go against his wishes and force him to get in some real x’s and o’s guys on the staff.

If we trade Rantanen and he lights it up, that wouldn't be a good thing for the future of our current coaching staff. You don't want talented players consistently breaking out once they leave here

The PP sucks, it sucks during the playoffs too. I'm not impressed with the defense either, maybe getting Burns and Orlov off the roster will help so I'll reserve judgement. But it sucks seeing Slavin get dragged down.
There's zero reason Aho and Svech to be in scoring slumps every f***ing year. Jarvis goes through them too at times. There's zero reason to have to constantly play from behind. This "grit and grind" shit has run its course. It is boring and hair-pullingly frustrating to watch. And in the rare occasions they don't outshoot the opposition like tonight, they look like ECHL.
Someone in the front office has to get through to Rod that he has to either change his ways or he goes. They aren't winning anymore with his style.
