Outscored 6-0 in the first period the last 2 games

Is it the coaching or the players because right now something is fundamentally broken with this team. They've been bad since November but it definitely seems like they are approaching bottom falling out status.

At this point just flip Rantanen. Seriously. We're one f*** up in the front office from a tear down. And throwing Nachos in the trash for this shit seems to be a good start.

If rod is going to bury him, and pair Jarvis with f***ing staal and martinook, then f*** it.

Putting him on the 2nd line is burying him?

Without Necas we have nobody who can gain the zone.

At what point is the system we are running not conducive to the players we have? Right now our style and our talent are at odds with each other

I'd say we gained the zone pretty well that PP. What we have is no players that can or want to take their man on. We're very passive on the PP. Aho had the puck between the circles and settled for a bullshit pass for a bad angle shot. Earlier we had a 3 on 2 and cycled back to the points

Aho was terribly out of sync in the 4 Nations, was that carry over from recent Canes form? I haven't been able to watch many of their games lately.
Yes. He has been a good point producer but his overall play has been sub par most of the year.

He had a brief explosive period after turn of the year but has regressed again and since the trade has been bad (now that virus hit the team hard so that could be contributing).

NHL edge stats say his skating speed is way down versus previous years too:

Time for a closed door meeting postgame
Man I'm well beyond that. I'm at the point where I think this team needs to do whatever it takes to bring in someone with a killer instinct and an absolute hatred of losing that would make the paint on the walls melt with how much he would lay into the team after efforts like this.

I don't think we have any player on the team who has that mindset. Not one

Well that guy got traded to the rangers already. Thats why I was on the acquire Miller train cause he actually gives a shit

This is boring, predictable, the PP sucks, they play like ass on the road (and aren't much better at home). The same shit that causes the "stars" to go into month-long scoring slumps every year, the same shit that causes the team to get bounced in round 2 or 3 of the playoffs.

Other teams sniff ours out. And yet, nothing really changes. The coach thinks everyone can and should play the way he played as a player. In his ideal world, everyone would be Martinook and Staal.

There is potential for this team to be awesome. There is potential for them to be fun to watch. I feel like I'm watching the 2015-ish squad right now.

It was very glaring of how little we've accomplished when it felt like 1/4 of the players playing in the four nations were former or current Canes.

This is getting comical. I honestly don't think they start games off in a bad way. But they are getting zero bounced literally none. One bad break leads to a goal and they slumontheir shoulders with the "here we go again" attitude.

Complete opposite of the last 6 season where no lead was safe against the Canes.

Man I can't wait for an intermission segment that is focused on the current game rather than focusing on the past cause what we are watching now is awful
