Beside destroying Kings financially and giving away best center prospect, player with best pure skills on the team and player with the most guts on the team how else you can explain your offer?

Sorry, I have forgotten that LA received 30 years old goalie who is not good in playoffs and center who is good not great and has character issues.

P.S. Kings receive players with twice salaries for 2024

I don’t think PLD gets 10 he gets 7.5
I think CH gets 8

Trade Durzi for a 2nd at draft and you play Kaliyev Spence Clarke.

If you think Winnipeg would take Arvidson instead of AI that would be great.

I think Byfield is a bust personally he has the hockey sense of Lebron James. Vilardi is great but he is always gonna be a likely injury away from having a short career.

You would likely have to add Arvidsson as well to help with the Kings cap. But I would agree that to get both PLD and Helle, you need two solid young pieces back. The Jets could also retain on Helle if it was the difference for 1 year as Kopitar's deal expires next offseason.

Arvi - 4.25
Iafallo - 4.0
Byfield - 900K
Vilardi - ??

PLD - 8.5?
Helle - 6.16 (but Jets could retain for next year)

Even with this calculation LA will receive 15.5 million and send back 11.75 million

I still believe that you artificially trying to lower contract numbers which PLD and Helerbuyck will receive.

I believe that your proposal is horrible for Kings by salary numbers and by players qualities.

Retaining for next year will not help Kings when new contracts for PLD and Helerbuyck needs to be signed.

I do not think LA will be even remotely interested in this trade.

They have cap room now to fill that void.
 
It's really difficult to assess Hellebuyck's worth. He's a top 5 goalie in the league but goalies aren't worth 10 million a year.

I wonder if GMs are clueing in on this and he'll end up getting 9X4 or 9X5.

It's odd as a Jets fan to see Schiefele and Dubois get more of a return when Hellebuyck is a borderline hall of fame goalie. Schiefele is a solid all-star centre and Dubois is maybe 30-40 best centre in the league?

What's likely to happen with Kopitar once his current contract is up? If he's sticking around Byfield is redundant after acquiring PLD, if he's not that frees up a lot of cap space for 24/25.

IMO Helle and PLD are going to get 13-14 million in 23\24 and ~18million 24\25. That's likely a bit too much but maybe there is some other salary LA can send back?

Depending on Vilardi's ask, the money is neutral

If you wanted to get crazy, WPG signs PLD for 1x8M prior to the trade and retains 50% on THAT, then he extends 7x8M on Jan 1. You'd actually be CREATING cap space. The only glitch is getting PLD to accept the risk of a career ending injury in the first three months of the season

Kopitar comes back on a yearly deal at 3 mil per or retires imho .

With PLD, helle and possibly schief and Wheeler on the move, the Jets are positioned to help LA with their cap problems if the price is right.

Not to mention that they have some nice young centre and RHD pieces

I think they can makengreat trading partners

The organization has stated they are not rebuilding. They have been pretty clear with their intention. You or I can speculate, but it sounds like the plan is to try to make the playoffs next season.

Having Vilardi as part of PLD's return (as well as iafallo and arvidson), the Jets would have a better forward group than this year (depending on schief)

Big question mark is goaltending

This is unbelievable.
You don't have to get more and more creative since this is not the issue.
The issue is that Vilardi is not available for a trade regardless of how many times you try.

Those 2 Winipeg guys have 0 value to the Kings
