If its so easy peasy they would have done it…
It is literally that easy.
Just to be clear, your easy solution is to:
A. waive 3 players and move them to the minors or hope someone takes them…
No one has to take them. Nothing prevents us from sending them down to save $1.15M in cap per contract.
B. Attach an asset or two to Skinner or Pickard to move them.
One of them would go the other way in any trade for a goalie. Why would we need to attach an asset?
C. Send assets to two different teams to get retention on a new goalie at 75%.
Which we just did yesterday to acquire Frederic.
Again, this is not impossible to do. Management just doesn't want to. Why you'd want to support that kind of incompetence is beyond me.
