He is not the Marlies GM he got promoted when Hardy took the GM role.

Maybe or he is not happy that Ryan Hardy took most of his role with the Marlies and was not happy about being promoted as he may have been "promoted".
Anaheim or SanJose I think.
Anyone with aspirations of becoming a GM in the next 20 years will probably be moving on.

The guy is in his late 50's with 23 years NHL management experience. Doesn't seem like a natural choice to be a rookie NHL GM. That would have happened a decade ago. Probably a difference in philosophy as it's euphemistically called.

Most plausible is that when they brought in Hardy (who Dubas is tight with) things went south and no use for Gillman anymore.

I get Pridham and Gillman mixed up, not sure that I should care that Gillman is leaving.
