Unsure how to explain it if you don't understand.
I understand the “what”, I’m more struggling with the “why”.

Yeah, that's the first part i was like huh? He sounds feminive and pronounces words like it? What the f*** does that have to do with anything, just sounds like some weird narrative OP is pushing.I understand the “what”, I’m more struggling with the “why”.
This sounds like something one of those dinosaur scouts in Moneyball would have said to justify not picking a guy lol3. His voice and pronunciation of certain words were quite effeminate.
Explain in detail and in your own words, what does this mean.3. His voice and pronunciation of certain words were quite effeminate
I haven't listened but a lot of players sound like frat bros or jocks. Someone with a cadence that is unusual would stick out.Yeah, that's the first part i was like huh? "effeminate pronunciation of words" is absolutely buckwild though any way you cut itI haven't listened but a lot of players sound like frat bros or jocks. Someone with a cadence that is unusual would stick out.
In wrestling, there's this big guy, Keith Lee, who looks like a real bruiser but sounds like he's reading Wuthering Heights for an audiobook or something. It's nothing that detracts, but it sticks out.
Yeah, but multiple star players in the league sound like they skipped puberty, but they're still star players, seems like a really weird thing to bring up.I haven't listened but a lot of players sound like frat bros or jocks. Someone with a cadence that is unusual would stick out.

This cracked me up because I picture him being chased every single time he leaves his house, like some weird Simpsons episode. My favorite Kyle Wellwood story was when he kept getting chased by a pack of wild dogs when he played in Russia.
He worked for Telus for a while. My company worked with them on a project years back and he was our rep. I just checked, and yep, I'm still connected with him on LinkedIn.For some reason a while go LinkedIn kept trying to connect me with him
Like he'd be one of my top 5 recommendations every time for like a year from 2016-2017 - I dunno why.
pretty sure hes insinuating he's homosexual with that comment. At least thats how I read it. its such a weird thing to say.Yeah, but multiple star players in the league sound like they skipped puberty, but they're still star players, seems like a really weird thing to bring up.
And it was mostly about pronouncing words "effeminate", what the f*** does that mean?
Listen to the interview. It stands out. It's combination of Eastern Canadian/English/Lisp"effeminate pronunciation of words" is absolutely buckwild though any way you cut it
Definitely not suggesting this. He has a wife and two kiddos. If I thought he was gay I would have said so. I just described his voice. If I described my own voice it would a Canadian/American southern drawl. Ignoring how different his voice and enunciation is would be odd.pretty sure hes insinuating he's homosexual with that comment. At least thats how I read it. its such a weird thing to say.
I see what you're saying. Next time I'd pick a word other than effeminate, thoughListen to the interview. It stands out. It's combination of Eastern Canadian/English/Lisp

I will listen and I'm sure I'll hear what you're saying but I'm equally as sure I won't describe it as effeminate pronunciation for I do not think that existsListen to the interview. It stands out. It's combination of Eastern Canadian/English/Lisp
Didn't realize the board was sensitive enough to not allow for a description of a voice to the point of denial.I will listen and I'm sure I'll hear what you're saying but I'm equally as sure I won't describe it as effeminate pronunciation for I do not think that exists
He definitely eludes to how much he left on the table in his career not being as dedicated as he could have been. He also doesn't sound like he regrets the choices he made. It's a pretty refreshing and honest point of view about a player I always wondered why didn't get more opportunities.100 points in 57 games in his final OHL season. Saw that translate to the AHL with a 55 point rookie season, followed up by 87 points in 80 games (which was 4th in the AHL during the lockout season, which had young NHLers like Spezza, Staal, etc in it). Saw that translate to the NHL with a 45 point rookie season and then 42 points in 48 games in his sophomore season (~72 point pace).
I remember watching him, he was super skilled, and he seemed primed based on the above trajectory to become a ~60-70 point centre ... And then... He was mostly a <30 point player after that, and was out of the league by age 30.
Not at all surprised to hear about his laid back attitude, lack of interest in the game, interest in partying, etc. In terms of careers that could have gone MUCH better with more dedication, he's a Leafs example of wasted potential that I think about.
Next time I will ignore it like it's a totally regular hockey playing man's voice and not distinguishable in tone, pitch, or enunciation. I am just realizing effeminate is now considered derogatory. I can only guess that the woman I used to powerlifting with, who had a gruff, raspy, masculine voice cannot be described that way either(yes she used testosterone and steroids and her name was Mary.)I see what you're saying. Next time I'd pick a word other than effeminate, though
Sounds like you guys are the ones with the problem.
