Lol totally forgot Barrie was a Flame. Lil bro syndrome say what.

Kuzmenko trying to shank someone last night must have been the final straw for that Flames bench.

What a bone head moment.

Any contenders interested in this tandem? Kuzmenko has 1 goal this season and Barrie would be better off and more useful on another team. Flames Blueline depth has no room for him.

Neither Barrie or Kuz have almost no value and with Kuz witha cap hit of 5.5? After the first week of the season Kuz has 5pts in 26 games played and Barrie has not played since November 13th and 2pts in 9 games

Conroy missed his opportunity. He should have dealt Kuz with retention after his strong finish last year. No one wants him now. Russia is calling. Barrie isn’t even playing either.
If Conroy could have traded Kuzmenko for any value in the summer he would be gone. A hot streak at the of the season didn't magically transform into a valuable asset from a cap dump. If had maintained his pace into this season then maybe someone would have bit.

The fact that the Canucks were able to get a division rival to eat Kuzmenkos contract of 5.5 mil AAV with term is crazy!

They replaced Kuzmenko's cap with Lindholm then Debrusk.

It doesnt really hurt the Flames that much because they had cap space but they certainly did not take advantage of a division rival needing to desperately get rid of player and bad contract.

Kuzy was being healthy scratched in Van before they moved him to CGY as well. Everyone knew his numbers were propped playing for Bodreau who didnt care if the Canucks played beer league style hockey.

You realllllly want that trade to be a win for the Canucks lol. Brzustewicz was probably the compensation for taking on Kuzmneko and it took him a bit to get settled in the AHL but he has had 10 points in his last 15 games.

The Flames needed some filler this season to hit the floor and Kuzmneko serves that purpose. He had a small chance at getting some value this deadline.

Who could have possibly seen it coming that after his first year in Vancouver Kuzmenko would not continue to shoot 28%

Both are awful and worth nothing. Kuzmenko’s salary helped the Flames hit the floor I guess. But no one else would want him.

That trade was awful for the Canucks in every way. They traded a 1st and an ok D prospect for a guy who didn’t help them win a Cup and then left town. So essentially they got nothing in return other than a 1.5-year cap dump.
