It makes no sense. You pulled down 2...got the goal. You get a PP. Just play it 1 up. Now you have no shot. Its lame. Also, you've lost 3 of the last 4. Get your heads out of your asses.

Paul Maurice has a weird obsession with pulling the goalie when the team gets a power play and is down in the third period. I do not understand it. When you're down two with five minutes left, I can see that, it makes sense. The team is desperate. When you are down one and the power play is going to carry a full two minutes into the end of the game, why? Why would you do that?

You're giving the team free shots at the empty net. It is bad strategy. I'm sure some egghead out there (probably the same moron who thinks you should go for it on 4th and 2 at your own 20 in pro football) says it gives you a 1% higher statistical probability of winning...

... but that egghead isn't counting on the fact that your power play is quarterbacked by a 28 year old journeyman rookie.


Anyway, on to the next one. The Panthers are going to make the playoffs, and from there they just need to turn it on full time. Watching winnable games squip away stinks, though.

As I’ve said, I’m with you on that one.

I would maybe consider pulling Bob with one minute left, as some kind of disturbing/chaos strategy, having a new forward coming down attacking the play while the opposing PK is set… Just because you want the win and all.

But at the start of the PP with 2’15 left on the clock and you’ve made it back to one goal ?

Nah.

Too bad… Hellebuyck was a load tonight, and had some luck. Plays kept dying on our sticks in the o-zone. Two gimmes in the first hurt a lot.

Game has changed a lot, pre lockout you only pulled the goalie with a minute or a buck 30 left and only when down 1, pulling a goalie down 2 was unheard of. It has gotten more aggressive over the years.

I like Schmidt, I think him and Kulikov could be something !

Balinskis looks nice and all, but it all seems like empty calories in the end… I’m rooting for the guy, but I’m afraid it won’t work.

We need to try to make it work for Adam. He has the talent.

Balinskis may have tired to force that pass a bit at the blue line, you have a 6/4 man advantage you probably could’ve made a safer play. Sucks, but he’s overall played pretty well. I do think with how Schmidt has solidified himself along with being a former Maurice player that if we did pick up a D at the deadline that balinskis would be the odd man out but if so, it’s always good to have depth. I think he’s been very solid, plus it’s only been 20 games. Let him get close to a full season under his belt.

Hard to blame the players when they've been placed in tight situations. I'm tired of getting on the PP and having it blown away because the other team just knows to fire a puck past the forward on D placed there by Kompon. Same stupid play not in our favor each PP. Stopped watching after it happened with Verhaeghe of all being played at top LD on PP. I might sound insane but I'd rather have have Ekblad there than freaking Verhaeghe.

Pretty much impossible to have a rivalry between eastern and western conference teams, but you CAN join the laundry list of fans who only come into this forum after their team has picked up a regular season win against the Panthers. Good showing.

Don't see any problem with playing 6 on 4, it's just needs to be executed better, in particular, having a star offensive Dman on the blue line would be helpful
