Kucherov has 1 goal in his last three playofff appearances.

Kucherov isn't primarily a goal-scorer, so this stat doesn't seem overly remarkable. This past season, Kucherov went through stretches of 1 goal in 10 games and 2 goals in 10 games, and he still won the scoring title.

In the playoffs, players typically fall about 20% (or more, esp. in the Finals) off their RS scoring pace, anyway. And when teams lose consecutive series, everyone's stats take a hit.

The last time the Lightning won a playoff series was June 11th, 2022. After that point in time, here are the Lightning's leading playoff scorers (through one Finals' losses and three first-round losses; i.e., over 22 games played):
21 PTS -- Kucherov (+2)
18 PTS -- Hedman (-4)
14 PTS -- Stamkos (-4) only 17GP
12 PTS -- Point (-4) only 18GP
12 PTS -- Cirelli (-8)
11 PTS -- Hagel (-11)

So, over these four series losses in a row, Kucherov leads the club handily in scoring, and of the top-six scorers he's the only guy who's a plus at even strength. I'd say he's doing fine.

On a non(?)-related note, what is with the large-scale dislike of Kucherov, anyway? I don't get it.

Generally, I'm very indifferent to most Russian hockey players, mainly because so few notable ones have played for my club (Edmonton). But I quite like Kucherov. His style is a bit like Gretzky, and he's so fun to watch in the highlights and so on.

In Kucherov's case, I don't get the seemingly mass dislike of him from NHL fans. What's he done that's so bad?
I don't think that there is actually a dislike for Kuch, it's more a thing of some posters complaining that others are haters if they don't agree that Kuch is the best at everything type of mentality that drives these sorts of discussions.

Sadly it's become HF Boards 101 for many.

His last 4 playoffs are fair game and part of his resume pure and simple.

Disappointing playoffs after an amazing regular season.

Still has a better playoff resume than both Ovechkin and Jagr if he retires tomorrow.
Yes it probably would do go

Kuch

Jagr

Ovi but I would put Fedorov at the top of the Russian NHL playoff list and if we add European forwards Foppa as well.

Might be an interesting off season question eh?

Best NHL playoff performers from Europe all time?

Not sure where I'd rank Kurri might have to think about it.

Kuch isn't done though yet.

As the title says Kucherov has 1 goal in the 15 games he’s played in the last three post season. No doubt he’s an elite player but is he on the same level as Connor/Leon/Nate as suggested by his regular season production considering those three have been way more productive in the post season?
we will trade Petersson for Kucherov, no take backs :naughty:

Well it was just reported Kucherov had a left hand injury. Could help explain why he wasn't shooting much this series.
Lightning reveal long list of injuries after playoff elimination
Wow the whole team was banged up. No wonder they didn't seem so disappointed after the series.
Sure except that Kuch was nursing the injury from February and that didn't really slow him down in the regular season after that.

Now it might have been aggravated but lots of players have these things going on did anyone really notice a huge difference in Kuch?

Yes I noticed he wasn't attempting many shots. Was way more pass first than usual.

In the regaulr season after Febuaray I don't see a drop and his shots and attmepted rates this year were pretty similar to last years playoffs as well.

Maybe he did have a more aggravated hand injury in the playoffs but I couldn't tell by watching and haven't seen enough there and it's still a three year period where he kind of underperformed right?

It's tight hockey against the Panthers. 2 of the Selke finalists this year were up against Kucherov. Not these wide open chances back and forth like I'm seeing watching Edmonton/LA and Dallas/Avalanche and some other series.
Look at the shot totals this year. The Florida series was much lower than other series. Nobody put up a bunch of points in it.

Great player for sure. But does he gave the stuffing left on him to make the sacrifices necessary to win his 3rd Cup?

Sure that's fair but there was also quite a bit of PP TOI too right?

TB is aging out and it showed against a very well constructed Florida team and even in the last 3 years in total.

He deserves some flack for it but at same time teams have done a great job against him. I think teams are strategically keying in on him because his lines have been our most effective one and if the other lines aren't scoring then they're fd. So simply in the playoffs for the past tampa has not been able to evolve past being a one line team. In the past they had 4 lines who can get it done. Now consistency is an issue there. Especially with the injuries they have had recently. Most teams are dealing with that at this point though. When teams are that close it can matter. Tampa will need to see if they can get deeper this summer. One reason they were so good in the 3 years they went really far was they had players up and down the lineup who would step up all throughout the regular season and playoffs. In regular season they were able to cruise through it in their sleep and guys were essentially resting for playoffs. They can't do that anymore. Fl did it this year. I think they will go deep again. Toronto worked hard at getting the top seed. I think it could back fire.

A cup is a cup but Tampa Fans overly cocky about 2 COVID cups from shortened/modified years. Your team has done nothing before or since. Yes I am a Leaf fan but doesn't change facts.

Bolts won the cup in 2004 and made the finals in 2015 and 2022 (but lost). That's hardly nothing.

Now if you want to annoy me about my first team (Bolts come second), I'd certainly deserve that since it's the Coyotes/Utah. That franchise has done nothing noteworthy in its entire existence in the NHL, unless you count a single trip to the conference finals, but that doesn't count for much.

Three-time WHA champions before I was born though... :P
