Kucherov Appears to Intentionally Trip Rasmussen As He Scores

The argument of taking a penalty to prevent a goal falls on its face once you understand that a goal would have been awarded anyway since it was an empty net and he tripped him from behind on a breakaway.

Committing penalties to stop EN goals happens all of the time anyways. Against us we've had a hook, a slash, and someone throwing their stick at the puck, all leading to automatic goals for us this year.

Nobody said you can't have that opinion. I am just not going to entertain a conversation with someone if they can't (or won't) even acknowledge the basic facts of the situation.
Could not agree more.

I hate when people missing the basic fact of mind reading does not exist and presenting me with someone's intention as a basic fact.

Yes, NHL players can't be reckless and stupid. They can also be dirty.

With Kucherov's history there is no reason to give him the benefit of the doubt in this case.

It’s more like we’re talking here about a sneaky dirty player who never gets suspensions.

Well if he never gets suspensions (actually he got suspended at least once that I can recall from the top of my head) it does not mean he is a dirty player or a sneaky dirty player, it means: "people question his plays because he is a star player and everything he does is under a microscope".

I have to disagree. The players very often have no intention of tripping the opposite players but the play resulting in tripping anyway.

The only way to say for sure that Kucherov did it intentionally is mind-reading. Which does not exist.
I'm not surprised to see you double down, I guess that's the only move. Everyone knows this wasn't about preventing a goal, yourself included. I'm sure you'll find a few more to take the bait.

Players get hooked, slashed, etc. all the time when they are going up ice on an empty net even if it ultimately ends up costing the other team the game(whether it's an automatic goal or just a penalty), just so that the puck doesn't go in the net. Obviously logically it doesn't make sense.

I think where people rightfully take issue is the proximity to the net at which this happens, making this extra dangerous. Flashback of Stamkos breaking his leg on a similar play, he was never the same. I don't think this is suspension worthy though, based on precedent.

So, you are either the most biased super fans of all-time or purposefully stirring the pot here…which is it?

It’s also the way he slashes the skates out from under him as well. He tried the same thing against Pageau but was unsuccessful due to Pageau’s positioning

Is there something about the way he slashes his skates that makes it extra dangerous, or just it shows clear intent to trip? I'd assume there is unanimous agreement that Kucherov is intending to trip him, but you never know on these boards.
