So Chicago needs a space to sign Panarin, and removing Kruger's (1) $3.08M can obviously help. What any team is willing to give for him? Of course I mean picks and not other contracts. (2) He's a 4th line center, who can play defense and PK.

(1) + (2) = Kruger plus a 2nd for a 7th...

I'm sure there are lots of players who have to play Subban. What makes Kruger so special?

when he was a young player, playing in sweden, he had a quite offensive side.

when he started to play for the hawks, he totally embraced the defensive side and shutdown role.

He is a player though who has been around for three cups, his captain is probably overpaid the the portions of his contract. For seven years.

Edmonton's bottom 6 could use an upgrade. 2nd rounder might sound high but a 4th liner is still better than anything Edmonton would draft with a 2nd round pick.

No way dude.

the gap between our 4th line center alternatives and Kruger isn't a 2nd rounder, especially not for that salary. Also why help Chicago?

Has any team ever done a trade like; bad contract + 2nd round pick for 6th round pick?

In March 2009, caught in a cap squeeze with the return of Brière from LTIR, the Flyers sent Scottie Upshall + a 2nd to Phoenix for Daniel Carcillo.

In October 2006, in a similar situation, New Jersey sent Malakhov + a 1st (later traded to the Blues who drafted David Perron) to San Jose for a 30-year-old Russian player who had gone back to Europe and never came back and a 27-year-old dman who played 13 games for them.

let me know what 4th line C plays 14-15 minutes a night

The last 2 seasons Luke Glendening averaged just over 14 minutes per game. He was only being paid a little over 600k per year and had 8 goals last year and 12 the year before and was 54% on faceoffs.

Anymore brain busters?
