So Chicago needs a space to sign Panarin, and removing Kruger's $3.08M can obviously help. What any team is willing to give for him? Of course I mean picks and not other contracts. He's a 4th line center, who can play defense and PK.

I'm sure there are lots of players who have to play Subban. What makes Kruger so special?

You'd be better off asking for a bad contract that expires at the end of the year.

Laich maybe?

Edmonton's bottom 6 could use an upgrade. 2nd rounder might sound high but a 4th liner is still better than anything Edmonton would draft with a 2nd round pick.

Not interested then. I can't imagine a lot of teams would be.

Then adding a good prospect or pick on to that.
Why would Toronto take on the extra yeard for free?

I believe Kruger's contract would still expire before most of Toronto's young guys are looking for bigger deals and Kruger is probably the type of player Babcock would like.

It will Chicago that pays someone, not the other way around.Give up a draft pick and you can lose the contract

Kruger + 3rd for Laich or Michalek.

Everyone knew it was an overpayment the moment he signed. If you want us to retain, the price goes higher.

I think this will be the correct answer at the expansion draft. We'll give Vegas a pick, maybe as high as a 2nd-rounder to select Kruger off our roster.

Chicago trades Kruger and a 2nd to keep Panarin.

Meanwhile, we keep him this year in pursuit of that big silver thing in the playoffs.

No chance the Oilers touch that deal. $3M for a #4C when you have Draisiatl and McDavid to resign makes little sense.

All guys that are (or have been) centers....so why exactly are we trading an expiring contract (who has been waived) for a 4th line C who has 2 more years after this one?

Kruger will get traded to a budget team after july 1st next summer when he is only owed 4.3 Mil for his last 2 years after his July 1st bonus is paid. 2 years at 2.15 is very reasonable for 27 year old shut down 3/4 line center that Wins faceoffs at 55% and PK's at high level.

No, I don't know whether his number will go up. But Jesus, kruger has 91% dzs

The only players in Krugers league of defensive zone starts the last 3-4 years were Paul Gaustad and Boyd Gordon

Krugers lack of production is directly tied to Quennevilles deployment of him and he clearly thinks Kruger is extremely valuable in what he does.

Now if another team is looking for an offensive contributor role in him, well that is an unknown unfortunately since he hasnt really been given a chance to play that part in the last 4 years
