Unlikely trade partners, I know.

It seems like NYR have a plethora of options on the wing, and since Nash will not accept a trade to MTL.....what would Kreider cost?

I personally think Petry would be a good target for the rangers, good right-handed PMD. He does have a NMC which would need to be waived however, though he might for a team like the Rangers.

Just want to see what the cost would be.

Rangers aren't going to want to take on another defender they're forced to protect in the expansion draft. I think the fact that they re-signed Kreider means he's not going anywhere for the foreseeable future. I don't think the teams make particularly good trade partners.

Cost is irrelevant because we're not trading him.

Moving Nash or Zuccarello makes more sense. And in that case we would be shooting higher than Petry. And anyone else on the Habs defense outside Weber and Sergachev and that's not happening. So...

I'd love Gallagher on the Rangers but it makes no sense for the Canadiens to trade him. Mentioning Petry for Kreider is like me offering Klein and I'd love to the see Habs reaction to that.

It'd take a good D man or a very good young D (not overly familiar with Montreal's defensive depth under 21) and a 1st, maybe more.

Rangers really value Kreider and AV seems to like him enough.

When he's on form, he has game changing ability. It's just a matter of finding that consistency from him. No way the Rangers give that away for less than above

Price would probably kill him. He cost him a season in his prime.

You're referring to Emelin right?

Thanks for the responses. Was curious as to what the cost would be, but sounds like there's no deal to be had.

The people derailing an innocent value of thread with "Emelin + DD" etc. are really just as bad as the habs fans who do the same.

Thanks for the honest answers though.

We need Petry more than Kreider and no,not a chance that we would even think about giving up Sergachev.
