I mean, we've lost 5 of our last 7, and with the Avs up next, could be 6 of our last 8. That's a bit concerning, IMO.

We do have (what's supposed to be) an easier stretch after the Avs, but considering our performance last night against Seattle, those games suddenly become question marks rather than favorites
If not for that huge 3rd period against Dallas and a free falling Rags team it could easily be 7 straight too...some of that is goaltending woes but the whole team has largely been sleepwalking since the Devils game

Thinking about the slump with some thoughts (cough excuses, pick one or all):
- Compressed schedule due to 4 Nations hurts us due to style of play
- Energy necessary to cover up for goalie weaknesses led to post Ranger declines
- Florida weekend hurt the teams mojo
- Combined slumping of Aho and Svetch can’t be overcome once Necas heater cooled down
- Teams have looked at tape and figured out how to adapt to Canes style of play
- Roster makeup: undersized D weakness exposed and JR/KK are roster misfits

OR

- As we move towards the winter, Raanta sauna is critical for recovery; now that it’s gone team flounders in the cold
- Staal Thanksgiving dinner gave everyone the runs

It was last year around this time we had our lull that dropped us to only a couple of games over .500 and lead to some harsh words about guys needing to look in the mirror and that weren't playing the right way. 82 game seasons are freaking long. This stuff happens sometimes. They'll be fine.

I am curious who he is specifically referring to with this statement. I am certain it is multiple players, but I’ll be honest, with the blender he employs, it can be difficult to determine who is in the dog house sometimes.

Besides KK, he’s always in the dog house.

I assumed it was the Rod equivalent of “make a f***ing save” except he’s referring to the majority of the team.

Does he include himself? Other coaches sometimes take ownership of bad outcomes in their pressers but I don’t recall hearing it too often. The guys didn’t hop into the blender on their own.

More from rod. Pretty clear who he's calling out in the first one. Can't really include jarvis in this though. He's dealt with injuries, and he gives 100% every time he's on the ice.

Necas domination and early season power play success as well as healthy Andersen/Kochetkov covered up these issues and painted a prettier picture than what we were seeing.

At the end of the day it is equally on Rod as it is on Aho/Svech/Jarvy to get those guys going and to have three top 100 forward talents misfiring to the degree that they are adds up to just as much of a coaching issue as anything else.

While Ryan's message is right, it's a bit misleading how that Ryan guy phrased that. He's using individual scoring stats at the beginning and team stats at the end. On top of that, he's including a bunch of EN goals.

per NST 5v5:
Aho: 14GF, 22GA
Svech: 11GF, 15GA
Jarvis: 8GF, 10 GA

Still not great though. They were all also on the ice for 4 goals the other team scored when the Canes pulled their goalie which makes the GA look worse.
