Weren't you the guy who guaranteed the Habs would draft Wright? Lol.

Kotkaniemi has 23 points in his last 30 games.
Suzuki has 17 points in his last 30 games.
Yikes, you can't possibly think this stat means anything when you ignore context and the small sample size right? He's got nearly 20 more points than him which is 2/3rds of KK's production, half of that came from one game against Tampa who played their worst game of the decade most likely.

He has been a pretty solid player for us this year. The lack of points earlier was mainly his linemates struggling to find the net and not necessarily anything he's been doing. Quietly one of our better defensive forwards, excellent on the dot and drives play well. He doesn't deserve the criticism he gets on here.

What a Jerk! Should have invoked the slaughter-rule and taken it easy on the Bolts after the first. Doesn't he realize how many games they've had to play over the last few seasons? Overpaid kids just don't respect true champions.

You know it’s possible for young player to develop?

Okay…I never denied that

I guess we have differing opinions. For now I see Kotkaniemi as being more of a utility guy than a good 2nd line center.

Sure he hasn’t proven that yet and is my main concern/question mark for Canes Cup chances.

But a 22y C can look and be a completely different player in game 82 than he was on game 1 of the same season.

He never was as bad as people think. I’m quite certain he will eventually be very well worth that contract, the hate he gets is honestly bit absurd.

His play for Canes has looked good, and his point totals also would look better if it wasn’t for Teräväinen struggling whole season till recently and Svechnikov having his goal drought.

Exactly. This was his first season as a 2c with the Hurricanes and getting a lot of playing time with good players. The most important thing is that he is improving. His point totals in the last half of the season indicate he has.
