Amongst those U23 big boi forward (to not say powerfoward before an army come here to say this one or that one isn't a powerforward), which one would you take on your team?

Slafkovsky:
70GP 17G 29A 46PTS

Knies:
69GP 25G 24A 49PTS

Cuylle:
74GP 18G 21A 39PTS

I am a Habs fan but what has Slafkovsky done to be so much over Knies?

Similar production and Knies is only a year older.

Preferring Slaf over Knies is fine but it is close.
I'm not saying AINEC or anything, but one guy plays with Marner and Matthews, and the other plays with Caufield and Suzuki. It is pretty easily Slafkovsky when you take that into account.

Knies doesnt outproduce slafkovsky enough to overturn the arguement of who they play with. Suzuki and Caufield are great, but even big habs homers won’t say they are better than Marner and Matthews during the season.

If knies had like 59 in 69 I think you could make the argument but with only a 3 point gap in 1 extra game, you gotta to Slaf.

Agreed. This is still slaf because of a) pedigree and b) similar production and c) slaf playing with lesser but still good talent. Ask me in a years time, things could change.

Only 3 NHL players with 150+ hits and 25+ goals this year

Brady Tkachuk
Tom Wilson
Matthew Knies

Slaf has size, he is not a power forward like Knies

Are you saying that because of the goals or the hits? I don't necessarily disagree but it looks like Slaf has 176 hits and 17 goals while Knies has 173 hits and 25 goals. I would love for Slafkovsky to play like more of a typical power forward but it's just not in his nature. If he ever gets there it will have to be a learned behaviour.

I thought Knies was Toronto's best player last playoffs. He's terrific, and I agree he's got more aggression/power in his game than Slafkovsky.

Slafkovsky's 1.5 years younger, with stretches where he uses his skill and strength, and looks like the better player. But then he'll have games where he look lost. As a Habs fan, it's frustrating to see great potential one game, then watch it go *poof* the next. I have to remind myself he just turned 21 (3 days ago). There's plenty of runway to determine what he'll become. Same with Knies, naturally.

I would easily take Knies.

Only three players in the league with 25 goals and over 150 hits.

Tom Wilson

Is this something Maple Leafs fan share proudly amongst themselves or is this a burner account who forgot he repeated himself?
