Over the last few years, he has proven he is no longer a 20 minute a night Dman. Wonder if he can be and 8-12 minute a night Dman?

Hope he is on a burial-able show me contract. If so, like that another guy thinks we are the team to come to for one of those opportunities.

Idk, I do ok on the mains.

I don't post there much, but I feel like I post some fairly spicy stuff every other month or so and usually have a good laugh with one or two people.

Not sure how you guys always lose your like privileges all the time, maybe I'm just lucky.

Some people just can't ignore trolls/haters and get drawn into endless flame wars

If I can speculate its partly due to you being able to see different sides and bring different discussion beyond tropes. You're not a homer, tend to be more objective, able to critique. So that if somebody was bringing up something about the Oilers you wouldn't read it immediately as personal affront. ;)

heh. I stay off the mains generally. Some topics I can get into. sure is a lot of circular tautology out there.

He was a GA machine at times. Don't really get this signing. We're loaded with D that contribute offensively and score. Whats the need addressed here?
Oilers management is reportedly worried about our serious lack of depth on the blueline. If Bouchard is ever hurt, our next right shot options are Stecher-Emberson-Brown, with Regula/Kemp in the AHL.

With Klingberg, I honestly think they just want more right shot blueliners who can take a shift at the NHL level. This is a chance to add a right shot puckmover with NHL experience for nothing. If he works out, even as a 7th/8th, we're deeper than we were yesterday.

Not confident in this solution but at least the timing and the current setup on the blue line allows us a real good test period pre 4 Nations.

They've already figured out how to handle a 5 man rotation interjecting the least minutes to whoever is the 6th man. So they can start him slowly in that role playing 10-15 minutes a night and if he's showing well build on it.

It's also a good spot on the schedule as the final 10 games before 4 Nations feature 7 non-playoff teams spread over 21 days with only 4 flights through that span.

This means a bit more practice time than what's been available recently and also means there's a bit more capacity if they need to ride the top 5 d-men a bit longer minutes while he gets established.

There we go. So it’s a fully buriable contract for a guy who was a top pairing dman not that long ago. This is freaking awesome. We’re paying him like a 6/7 so even if he doesn’t bounce back there’s no downside.

He’s either capable on playing top 4 and we hit a home run and can use those assets elsewhere, or he’s free depth for the playoffs

A better 6/7 d than Stetcher/Brown/
You didn't see him latter time in Dallas. People get mad here at Booch making some bozo plays. I liked Klingberg like 10yrs ago. Whats the fascination of this org with getting players that are well past their prime and that have injury history? Just don't see the point of this one. I like stecher, he's struggled but the team gave him no stability in D partner either.
Klingberg was good till he left Dallas.

I watched Dallas lots. For the last half dozen years they were one of my preferred Non Oilers watches. Klingberg was a problem last couple years on the Stars. Worst GA and statlines at times. -28 and -15 on good teams.

klingberg is very impulsive as a D. He's not any great system player and hever has been. he's there for the D jump and offense on teams that require that kind of boost from the back end. I just don't see how this fits or makes sense here under our systems. Too much random in his game.

The guy was -7 in his 14 games this year with the Leafs. I don't watch the Leafs at all but wonder if he was a tirefire there too

Last year with the leafs was pre surgery. Same surgery that revitalized Patrick Kane so who knows. It’s low risk

We see inordinate D goals, points and production in the back end here. This season and last for goal scoring we have Booch 6th in league, Ekholm 17th and Nurse 32nd. So that in a 32 team league we have 3 D in top 32 scoring.

This season Kulak has joined the hot D party. So that we have Booch at 8 goals tied for 6th in league, as many as studs like Josi. We have Ekholm and Kulak 13th and 14th in scoring among D. Theres no team in the league getting more production from back end than we get.
