Kitchener Rangers 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

I'd sure like to see Hlacar dress game 2. It's times like this some truculence is needed. Too many lightweights on the 4th line for my liking
As for the game, I didn't see that happening.

Apparently, Hlacar is sick and couldn't play. The way the boys played...I have to wonder who IS playing sick. Not taking anything away from Windsor....great team....but that was not the Rangers out there last night. They were gassed out by the 3rd. No reason....they had the week off.

And while Xu is going to be a major force, at this point, I'd have McNiel back on D.

Any word on Humphries? Hopefully, his nose wasn't broken....

I'm thinking Humphries with a broken nose might be best case scenario 😟

Not the best effort last night, especially after Humphreys went down. Seemed the air was out of the sails after that.
We had no pressure down the middle. You could see missing Ellinas, Misaljevic, Humphreys and even to an extent Hlacar was big. The rest of the boys played a little too timid and the forecheck and drive wasnt there.

Wondering too if Labrash might be playing for more size on the 4th line on Saturday.

We’re in tough now up front. Regular season points leader out with a “doesn’t look good” injury and now our points per game leader, #1C out with a suspected concussion.

We’ll get Ellinas back for Game three but if we don’t get the split, we’ll have to win out at home. We could be sunk going down 3-1 to these guys.

Did not see this coming after entering the playoffs 100% healthy.

I think we have to go with size on Saturday. I didn’t see enough out of the three we brought in last night that forces us to keep them in the lineup.

Labrash, MacNiel and if good to go, Hlacar. Get them in.

Parsons with a .770 save percentage in the first game vs Windsor ? The lowest of any goalie left playing in the league ?

Having Missile , Humphreys and Ellinas out of any line up would be devastating. All three are clutch players.

While I would like a 4th line of Hlacar Labrash and maybe Stark/Headrick, I didnt think all things considered that Xu played a bad game. As someone suggested earlier, what about MacNiel playing on the 4th line wing?

When I compare Xu to MacNiel, I think they both can bring the physical play. Xu seems to take an extra penalty here or there but MacNiel has issues boxing out in front of the net, where Xu does that better.
To me its a coin flip between the 2 and I want them both in the lineup next year as regulars.

We don't have to go down that road. Anyone who's watched this team this season knows we aren't where we are without Parsons. Not even close. As for last night, the score might have been double what it was without him

For a small guy, Headrick did throw a couple checks last night.

Agree on MacNiel / Xu. But for me tomorrow, Xu on D and MacNiel on the wing.

But yes, next year, both in my top six.

Not a ton of grit being shown, that is what is needed come playoffs, and a bit more net front presence as well would not hurt.. We play way too much outside game in the easy areas. If the PP were to ever click as well that would be useful..

Hopeful for a big bounce back and a split on Sat

I guess I would ask if there is any value in pulling the SV% for any single game for any given goaltender during the season (?) In my opinion, you get a more meaningful representation of any player's stats over a span of more than one game.

But its so random to pull a stat from one game to make a point about someone....
See I can do it too. That makes a .643 Save%.

Anyone have any news on Humphreys injury by chance yet?
