Pinelli sounds expensive. MM must really love losing in rounds 1, 2 or 3 of the playoffs. That’s what a Pinelli trade will get us this year and hurt the teams chances mem cup year of adding a Pinelli or 2 type of players that year to put the team over the top. Adding Pinelli does not put this team over the top this year. Adding 2 Pinelli type players in 2 years would probably put this team over the top.

For what it is worth, I am reasonably certain that if there is a Pinelli deal, it won’t be just Pinelli. Sounds like Boyd wants to pair him with Mayich but Rangers already have three good OA’s. That said, there were big rumours last year that there was a deal for Mayich done with Kitchener and then Sale wouldn’t waive his NTC to go to Ottawa, only to Kitchener so the Kitchener deal went to Sale and Barrie. So, it is possible I guess. That would mean you’d have to move one of Swick or Miseljevic in a separate deal though.

Keep in mind that this looks like Plan B. So, take it with a grain of salt. The only thing I can say about this is provided the information I have is true, it means MM is buying. Whether it ends up being Pinelli or someone else, who knows…

I think it would be a mistake to start trading off the future. Rangers don't have the horses to compete with the Knights as an example. Two many veteran 19 year olds. The top scores aren't at 40 points. Brantford as an example has three I believe with 50 or more and not considered a dangerous contender. Just a thought.
If Valentini reports by next fall, we’ll have a total of 16 signed 07’s and 08’s. Something will have to give.

I will assume (hope) that by buying, and maybe putting Headrick in play, MM “knows” Valentini is coming at some point.

In my own opinion both Parsons, and arguably to a slightly lesser degree the recent addition of Pridham, have had a huge impact on the club's current record. Hard to say when you'll ever see a goaltender on this team again that is capable of playing to the level that Parsons is currently at. I'm sure MM is taking this into consideration.

Also, there is a widening gap between the top three teams and the rest in this conference. (I type this prior to the game against Erie mind you). Adding a player (or two) gives this team a shot at the West final. However, if that happens, of course the next hurdle is what we're all well aware of.

My concern though: If MM is a buyer, and it costs picks, how do you recoup those picks before '26-'27?

Edit: I see ES's proposal above about excess 07's and 08's which might partly get around the problem.

Nice to see Headrick get on PP2. I’d like to see what Ellis can do on the PP as well. High skill and good IQ player.

1st PP

Pridham
Swick
Romano
Missle
QB - Reid

2nd PP
Ellinas
Headrick
Ellis
Lam
QB - Chromiak, Bilecki, Ando (whoever deserves it)

Had the potential to be a bigger score if not for the failing PP. Just like last night, they turned it up a notch after allowing the first goal. It was only a matter of time before they solved Erliden. Speaking of, what a game by him. If Erie had any sort of sustained pressure, he would have been the difference.

And now the clown work after the game. Erie not enjoying these loses I guess.

Parsons solid….again.

I thought all 4 lines were creating chances and this could of been a different game if they buried a normal amount of scoring chances.
