I’m hearing there is no way MM is a selling. Trying to go to add some vets. Big mistake imo. Now…maybe the price ends up being too much and he decides do a light sell but as of right now he is in buy mode. If we can get Sale or an import to report plus Valentini then I don’t mind adding on the cheap if something else comes up. I just can’t see adding 1 or 2 decent guys will give us a chance against London if we don’t get players free added (Sale, etc).
I think London is done making big moves. I don’t see them moving Hawery. I don’t see them moving their lone 2nd’25. They traded a 2nd and 4th to get it. They want to use it at the draft.

Sale would be nice but I’d be surprised. I hear MM’s looking to buy but I’m not in favour. At least of a big splash buy anyway. A couple very inexpensive adds (Chromiak cost or Pridham type arrival) I’m ok with.

Do not touch our 2025 picks. Do not move any 2nds or 3rds.

Rangers watching Team Canada too much. Not playing with the same intensity like they were earlier in the season. Some players aren't as noticeable.
Felt like this was the same story last year as well. Things became more sleepy and vanilla down the stretch.

Hopefully it's not a sign of whats to come.

One noticeable thing about this Ranger squad. If the opposing team lets them hang around while sitting on a small lead they find ways to win in the end. Just can't count them out.

After the Brantford goal, you could see the legs start to move. They didn't have many quality chances (credit Brantfords blocking) but they controlled most of the play. The PP again looks depressing. Thankfully Brantford doesn't have an aggressive PK. Rangers looked like they want the PP to end so they could go back to 5on5. Speed usually wins in OT so no doubt it was Pridham who ended it. Parsons stellar again. The crowd heckling only made him stronger. I had a few fans around me that couldn't believe some of the saves he made. It's a pleasure to watch him grow over 5 seasons. Selfishly, I hope he graduates a Ranger. He can easily steal a round or 2.

I was looking at some ways that we could add an import player if a soft buy is what MM has decided to do. Ultimately there were not that many options as the teams that are out of it have younger Imports (07s). I was able to find 4 imports that we could maybe trade for depending on the price.

Noel North:
Ontario Hockey League
2005 born Left Winger who is 6'2", plays in the SOO and has 21 points in 17 games.

Martin Matejicek:
Ontario Hockey League
2005 born Left Defender who is 6'2", plays for the Petes and has 13 points in 36 games.

Ihnat Pazii
Ontario Hockey League
2006 born Left Winger who is 5'9", plays for North Bay and has 2 points in 6 games (24 points in 63 games last year).

Urban Podrekar
Ontario Hockey League
2005 born Left Defender who is 6'0", plays for Flint and has 11 points in 32 games.

Nordh I’m sure will be traded but he will be the most expensive import traded this year which I don’t like. I’d guess he goes for 2 2nds and a 3rd or in that ballpark? That’s just not what I’d want to spend to get killed by London in the 3rd round (if Parsons can get us to the 3rd).

That will depend on the demand for Nordh. Not a lot of teams looking for imports I wouldn’t think at the deadline. Most cintenders look to be set in that department. We could use one. Flint may want to upgrade if they are actually buying. Maybe Oshawa might want to improve on one of their ‘06 imports.

Past that, though I can’t be say that I’m an expert on all the imports in the east, there may not be many teams, looking to upgrade their import slot. And that will affect the price.

If we can get Nordh for 3rd and 4th then I’d take him. I just don’t know if that’s enough for him. Would have to think a 2nd needs to be the starting point but I’d be happy to be wrong on this.

If the London guys on Team Canada play like they have the past week they aren't so scary. Thing is Dale Hunter will be coaching them and not Dave Cameron 😁

MM wants to buy. But he may wait out the Soo if he is interested in him and try to get him at a discount at the 11th hour.

Great point ES. I don't see us getting involved in picking up any big names. Should be some discounts for role players near the deadline.

If the buy helps the team this year, and the next two years, then sure? Clearly Jussi is able to get more out of a player so maybe there is some hidden talent out there that needs some good coaching. We've all expressed what we think MM should do, but ultimately we are just along for the ride. But, by the sounds of it, the top guys aren't going anywhere...

I’m anticipating a quiet week. They have 2 2nds and 2 3rds to work with(firepower). I don’t think there is chance MM touches the Petes picks (mentioned the importance of the 09 class last week).

Other assets they could use
Macniel
Arquette
Headrick

*Rangers has been mentioned with a certain player in the east over the last month but I don’t see it happening.

Not sure what MM has up his sleeve or what the agenda is but overall. The Rangers have really nothing to prove this season. They are in 3rd place and not that far out of first. Great accomplishment if they can keep the effort going. Young players getting ice and experience in all situations. I can't see MM standing pat with the trade situation opening up. I guess it's wait and see what direction he takes. Any team worth it's salt will always have a cache of picks in store to use when they decide to make a solid run. Personally watching Ando last night he will garner a lot of attention. He would be a solid contributor to any squad going for a shot at a championship. I would hate to see him off the roster but if MM gets a big offer he will have to consider it.

I think it would be a mistake to start trading off the future. Rangers don't have the horses to compete with the Knights as an example. Two many veteran 19 year olds. The top scores aren't at 40 points. Brantford as an example has three I believe with 50 or more and not considered a dangerous contender. Just a thought.

Unfortunately for us (and the rest of teams) the make-up of the Knights is much different in comparison. It is a matter of days we will begin to see Hunter show his hand. We all know he isn't afraid to adjust "his game" "as required". We've seen this movie before.

I’ve been told by a person I trust, the Rangers are buying. Interest in Pinelli. Apparently deep discussions.

The Pinelli rumour to Barrie seems like it still has a little bit of steam but doesn’t look like Vaughn is going to waive his NTC which gives this Kitchener information a lot more legs.

Pinelli sounds expensive. MM must really love losing in rounds 1, 2 or 3 of the playoffs. That’s what a Pinelli trade will get us this year and hurt the teams chances mem cup year of adding a Pinelli or 2 type of players that year to put the team over the top. Adding Pinelli does not put this team over the top this year. Adding 2 Pinelli type players in 2 years would probably put this team over the top.

I’m all for being conservative. But at least if we did add Pinelli, he’d bring a different aspect to this team than past deadline acquisitions like Sale and Arcuri did.

He might be the closest thing to Petizian we’ve had since, well, Petizian.
