I thought Sudbury acquired those rights?

EDIT: sniped by GeoBlue
Regardless, you know what I mean. I forgot he was traded and they made him Defected. But, again, it doesn’t matter. It is the point in general. The current 1st rounder typically has similar value with the exception of the recognized studs regardless of draft position. Hage was the 10th overall pick but ranked higher.

Once they get to 17 years old, the values bend towards their performance. When they were drafted is less meaningful.

Lots of trade rumours across this board. None involving the Rangers though. Hope we’re not done because I don’t think what we’ve done will be enough.

Need a higher end but not elite top six forward I believe plus a couple inexpensive depth moves. One for the bottom six and one depth D.

With Missy rumoured selling, does this thing shift to a buyers market?

I've never said he's not, I've maintained his cost is inflated and the team could be improved in other ways that address definitive needs for less. He's, imo, not worth the price (and especially not the price some here insist he is definitely worth)...which is a position that seems to bother the future Shane Wright PR All-Star Team.

I agree I hope we're not done. I'm of the opinion that you can't add too much talent at this point. If we're not adding them, some other team is.

Just so happens I heard that Shane Wright is making his way to Kitchener for our 2 1st round picks and a player to be named later. Also, Brandt Clarke is coming to fill out our D for all our remaining 2nds, 3rds and 4ths. We have Xman junior coming from Hamilton to add some grit, in exchange for the rest of our picks plus our "Fans are #1" banner. (Which I am totally ok with) So the Rangers are definitely looking good. Oh yes, there is also a bridge somewhere in Brooklyn.................

Hope you're right about the banner.

My thinking is that MM got his key pieces and is willing to go with a wait-and-see approach - watching what other teams' moves are first before he attempts any further deals. Mind you he has proven me wrong many times in the past :)

A guy at a Ranger game reminded me once that I was Gordie Howe's Peewee coach. It gave me flash backs to the old days when we gave players instructions carved on stone tablets. My "Old Timers" hasn't fully kicked in yet. :naughty:
I seem to recall such a smart ass remark....wonder from whom?

Is your Social Insurance number “1”?

If so, imagine what it would be worth on the open market today?!?!?!

That, for sure. But also, he made the two big additions in Arcuri and Moore and is now likely seeing how their inclusion affects the team in the way of giving an idea of where and to what level he needs to add next.

How good is our D now and what level of depth add do we need back there, if any at all?

How does Arcuri in the lineup affect the play of others? For instance, Sop had been playing pretty good as the season wore on. But since the Arcuri add, he’s making a case to be a good “third” on the top line. Most on here, myself included, figured that on a top contender, his play pre trade dictated he’d help create a solid third line.

If Sop does figure to belong among the top six, maybe MM forgoes a top six add but rather picks up a couple veterans, on the cheap, to play third line.

Unless they have a different view than the 2 we had, I don't see how that was a 5min major. Hits his shoulder and rides up a bit...maybe 4min if you count that second cross check that didn't look like much.

Double minor I can live with. That was a weak 5min major call. And they wasted our time too.

I got so tired of listening to those Owen Sound tv guys talking silly I turned the volume off. Then my wife had to listen to me barking at the refs. The Attack conned the Rangers into playing their style of game. Kept them to the outside and nullified their offense. The Attack goalie had a good view of shots coming at him. Not too much screening going on in front of him.

If MM makes another deal or two I hope he adds an element of grit to the recipe. He has done this before. Just someone to keep opposing teams are aware of when they take liberties.
And many of us keep mentioning the lack of grit because Rangers do lack it. When Smith was brought in, that move added a new dimension to the team. The question is........F or D...or both? Who's out there that fits the bill?

As for the Wright discussion, I believe he's coming to Kitchener about as much as I believe Cutter Gauthier is going to leave Boston College for the Rangers.
