Only listened on the radio, but it seems Carty stood on his head last night. Hopefully he gets a fair chance to steal the #1 role.

I've said this a thousand times. Playing OAs just for the sake of getting them in the lineup is just plain wrong. If they are not considerably better it only stunts the teams development.

seems as though Brosnan is Murray's second try at a Liam Maskaant find. Maskaant was a shocking surprise the way he played.

If the Rangers had no O/A's i'd be content - it's silly to add them just because you don't have them - The Rangers are already one of the leagues oldest teams, and have a number of younger players who have proven to be ready to step in, if given a roster spot.

If Hall and Allen aren't on the team this year, you can forget about whichever of the two isnt kept up, their development will be screwed.

Not sure what everyone see's in Connor Hall.

I have watched him probably about 40 times in the last 12-14 months (mainly during his time in Elmira) And aside from him being a solid physical player, he is a terrible defender with a terrible shot.

He's not an OHL defender. He may change my mind with more playing time with the team but if I had to choose between him and Allen, I will take Allen any day!

RF99, I am hoping that the discussion is not between Allen and Hall, but rather between the youth with growth potential and the veterans that may have limited upside. I have not seen alot of Hall, but what I have seen I really liked. We need someone physical back there and he certainly brings that presence. We can't have the opposition floating through the middle of the ice without a worry about getting drilled. At the very least, Hall has shown that he might be that guys for us?
What about Allen and Hall?? And Roberts? Hello future!

As I see it, if the Rangers want to go from 8 D to 7, then Brosnan is the odd guy out. If I were making the decisions, I'd tell him he has until Hall gets back to make enough of an impression to change my mind.

But I'm not making the decisions and since the coaching staff has had him wearing an "A" at times, it looks like they may see things differently.

It's best to give these prospects and maybe even our vets time under a new regime with NHL experience. Listening to former pro players on the tube they feel these kids will learn under the new coaches. It's obvious there were mistakes at the past drafts and we may have seen the best of some players but others just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Agreed, the OA's are fine and dandy at this time of the year but the coaches need to project who will be better come the playoffs.
If this is the best that Brosnan can be then maybe Hall, Roberts and Allen with full seasons behind might be the way to go.

I know its a long shot but does anyone think Delzotto has a chance to fill a spot for the time being?

If I recall he didn't sign. That could mean he wants to keep NCAA open.

I remember hearing he wants to play in the OHL.

How many card's do the rangers still have this year? Maybe we are just strapped for cards, that's why he isn't signed. He had a hell of a camp here.

Apparently Greg Meireles will be playing Friday night (Josh Brown on twitter)

Young DelZotto is very small. Has 3 points in 8 games. Not exactly setting the world on fire. Cambridge just fired their coach and the assistant quit. Not the right time to bring up this player IMO.

Dissapointing ending for sure. First time I've gotten to see the Rangers this year, Roberts looks like he's going to be a player, was very impressed with his skill set.

Tried to watch as much as I could.

Have to say, I've been very disappointed all season thus far.

Despite a few players, this team hasn't looked interested all season.

Rangers looked very generic this year for an older team. They threw maybe three or four hits the whole came. MacInnis was a non factor for a big guy. Certainly no sandpaper. Roberts looked like the best D. Kid has hockey sense. Why sit out Baby Joe and play Bzowey who has about four points in three years? Also what is up with Blaisdale? Saw him walking around with Baby Joe Garreffa tonight. Magyar called him that on the news. Must be a nick name.

Yeah,

To me it seams like this team hasn't taken many steps forward from the last 2 seasons. Like we should have been expecting Big years from Macinnis and other vets. But none of them seam any step further. When some media outlets said they could see him getting 70 points this season, initially I asked, that's it? I expected more.

I think this is going to be a year we are going to sell off the likes of MacInnis, Magyar, and others.

Get Baby Joe lol, and maybe Bzowey more playing time and actually giving Davies a real crack in the top 6. It's time to see if he can handle it.

I have a hard time watching teams destroy players confidence by putting them on a 4th line giving them 6 shifts and think they should get better with no icetime.lf you have no intentions of playing them than trade em.

Why wouldn't Roberts be out for any of the 3on3 OT? I know it's going to be a learning curve for all coaching staffs but I don't think you need a big guy out there. Going back between Brosnan and Hora for the entire 5 mins didn't make sense to me. But did anyone see that slick move by VanRyn? Right after the puck was dropped in our own zone, I think Mascherin immediately went to the bench where the d-men sit and Franzen came out the far side of the bench and the Spits players barely noticed. Caused a solid scoring chance.

This is not going to get better from past years overnight by waving a magic wand. Brown blogged that Tkaczuk is working on players individual skills to improve the PP. I would guess that's been something that's been lacking for a long time.

Four years ago MacInnes and Dylan Larkin played on the USDP team and had similar stats. MacInnes chose to come to Kitchener and Larkin chose USDP then U of M. Larkin got a goal and an assist playing on the Wings top line last night. I'm sure other factors were involved, but 2 years of substandard coaching is one of them.

By the way, I'm beginning to think that snowy substance that we play on that passes for ice in Kitchener may also be a contributing factor to lack of player development. I'd have rather had an improved ice surface to watch better hockey than a shiny new score clock. But I guess better ice doesn't sell advertising.

I think we are still seeing the same defensive deficiencies around our net that we always have. Maybe it's just the level of hockey sense of the D. Roberts is a rookie. He seems to have the best hockey sense of all the D. Brosnan and Hora let opposing players stand alone in front of Opilka on more than one occasion last night's. Big Stanley on the Spits does it right.Come around the Spits net and get whacked or shoved on your butt. The Rangers are older but still do not garner any respect. Opposing teams love playing at the Aud.

Rangers let another game slip away today. One of their biggest issues is no scoring. They are third or fourth from the bottom in goals for. Until they get that corrected they may struggle to make the play offs this season. Sitting in eighth at the moment. I thought MacInnis took a lackadaisical approach to the game. He really needs to step it up. Not captain material at the moment. Hiebert has to make a move to shore up scoring IMO. Said he is not in a hurry to bring in an OA. I am hoping some of the regulars get it going. Lots of issues to iron out.
