Because he’s 4 years younger and is still projecting as a 1C ….easily has more value

You’ve provided nothing to say that Rantanen is a better player. The stuff you tried to provide was factually incorrect. Do you expect me to just take your opinion as fact?

Kaprizov scored 16 more points than Rantanen last year, 11 more goals and 5 more assists. That’s crazy considering the linemates for Rantanen were MacKinnon/Landekog/other and for Kaprizov they were Zuccarello/Hartman.

The fact that Kaprizov is maintaining the same pace as Rantanen this year with Sam Steel as his most played with center is flat out impressive.

You realize at times Rantanen was the only legit top6 F in Avs roster?
& at that point he’d scored 25% of the Avs goals.

Also he’s a proven playoff beast

Mackinnon went from 53 points to 99 as soon as he had Rantanen on his line. Rantanen is a complete player. Kaprizov is not.

That coincides with jettisoning Duchene.

Kaprizov was over a goal per game in the playoffs. He had more goals than Rantanen in 14 fewer games.

It doesn't matter what NHL players teams would or wouldn't trade for him, at best they come out with a different player carrying the entire offensive load.
