This is 2022-2023.

He missed all of last year (He had 2pts in 2 games).

Give him a little more time maybe? I think our GM will. Kirby will finish the year in Montreal IMO.
Context is needed. Most of those points were as a winger with Suzuki and Caufield. It was also in a lost season, you can’t take much away from that. Like Galchenyuk scoring 30 goals in one.

Hughes traded for him to be a centre and he isn’t showing the consistency we wanted at that position. It’s all short flashes, but that’s basically what he’s done since his CHL days. A big "what if"

Not that I have a horse in the race here, but I think there's teams that'd be willing to bet on potential.
Reminder, at the same age as Dach, Dylan Strome scored 9 goals and was -17 for the Blackhawks and people were wondering if his career was over. Not saying that's a parallel assessment, but guys who miss a bunch of time with injury sort of get derailed. Tage Thompson at 23 had 8 goals and didn't play a half-season in the NHL.
While not concrete evidence that Dach is definitely going to turn his career around, I think this is an excellent assessment of the situation.

It also indirectly highlights the reasons why Dach is unlikely to be traded.

Yeah that's true... But really, what are the chances of that happening again?

Dude has been in the pros for like 6 or 7 years, Habs fans need to come to reality... He's not the player you think you got, not does he have any value in a trade. I hoped for the best too when he was on the Hawks, but it's just not happening.
Dude has only played 238 games while putting up 107 pts.
Injuries sure has derailed his career. If [big if ] he can stay injury free for a bit than he may be able to salvage his career or even start to fulfill it. We are in no hurry. We are better off just holding off for awhile,

And on PP1 getting 4 minutes a night there, where more than half his points came from.

18 points 5v5 is what you tend to get from your 4th liners and dmen.

He hasn't fully recovered to his usual game shape yet. It's not hard to notice. you can simply look at his play on the PP. He's not moving as much he usually does on the PP. I think that's what he's gonna be working on on PP2 now that Laine playing PP1.

Habs fans would have ran strome out of town on a rail. Literally zero patience and less game knowledge.
