Davidson sure didn't think he was impossible to replace and I imagine you and Hughes won't think so either by the time he's an RFA, if not sooner
And how are the Hawks doing? They’re going to teaching for a long time to find a big centre to play behind Bedard.

The guy is still not 100% from his knee injury, and you want to trade him now?

I get that his injury was disappointing last year, and he's still not 100% so far this season, but why trade him when you're not going to get great value for him?

The Hawks are in a rebuild too, so they're doing bad, as they should be, just like Montreal, but they clearly realized quite some time ago that Dach is too fragile to be a reliable and dependable answer. Kid couldn't even make through a couple games at the World juniors without getting catastrophically hurt, so he's been showing the world what he is since day one

Dach is not one of the pieces they'll be moving on from.
They'll move from him when his contract is about to be up. We've seen his performances regress with his multiple strings of injuries, hence his value being down to a throw-in in another trade.
