I wasn't just referring to this years injury. Every time he leaves the bench, most of us are wondering if he's coming back to the game.Guhle's injury this year was a fluke. It's like Price cutting Markov's achilles

He does have Erik Cole itis. Often leaves the game or in pain on the benchI wasn't just referring to this years injury. Every time he leaves the bench, most of us are wondering if he's coming back to the game.
There's for sure an argument that all the missed time will have a serious negative impact on what his peak performance level. But that's a different argument to he's an injury prone player who will never stay healthy.Injuries turned them from elite to very good. Dach is average. These injuries will make him below average.
It’s also crazy to suggest it’s just a label when he’s never had a full healthy season dating back to the WHL. Like how can you say with a straight face that there’s nothing to the label of injury prone when he’s taking the most basic of physical contact and is OFS.
Which would also be true if it was all just luck, there's a large enough sample size of players that you'll get even the very unlikely outcomes. To be fair I think there are some legit cases. Just take a look at the list of bandaid boys on DobberHockey and you'll see these guys rarely put together some full seasons
Dach concerns me deeply on two levels. First how long will it take for him to give us a top 6 worthy performance next year if he even can?I wasn't just referring to this years injury. Every time he leaves the bench, most of us are wondering if he's coming back to the game.
I'm sure they have great fitness trainers in Alberta.Dach needs to spend the off-season with the training team, not back at home in Alberta.
But we also know he can’t be trusted with his own offseason recoveryI'm sure they have great fitness trainers in Alberta.
Here's what I think is going to happen.Dach concerns me deeply on two levels. First how long will it take for him to give us a top 6 worthy performance next year if he even can?
Second how long can he play at a top 6 level before he sustains another injury.
We can't afford another season of 30 plus games for Kirby to find a level of fitness.
For me Kirby Dach is proving his underlying numbers in his last season in Chicago and his horrendous numbers here this season is exactly who he is.
As long as we don’t baby him for 40 games while we’re a bottom 5 team waiting for him to get out of his funkHere's what I think is going to happen.
Dach is hopefully training and rehabing as hard as he can, and eating healthy foods.
He might be ready to play hockey again in November or something.
He'll start off with a conditioning stint in Laval. Maybe 4 games or so. He will easily destroy the AHL which isn't actually noteworthy but fans will get excited.
Then Dach will come to the NHL and play on third or fourth line wing. What comes after is less clear.
If he plays well, he will be bumped up the lineup and fans will say "I told you so, I knew Dach was part of the team's core, Hughes is good at trading" and he will be considered an untouchable.
If he plays badly, he will stay in the bottom six, and fans will say "I told you so, I knew he was never good, Hughes isn't good at trading" and Dach will soon be traded for another reclamation project.

Doesn’t Guhle have a significant injury history from his minor league days? If so, scouts need to pay attention — the ability to stay healthy is on par with any other skill — some even say that health is a skill.I wasn't just referring to this years injury. The hope for Dach, at this point, is 3rd line RW. Anything more than that is setting yourself up for disappointment.Dach concerns me deeply on two levels. First how long will it take for him to give us a top 6 worthy performance next year if he even can?

Dach does not strike me as a player having much value in a bottom six role. The hope for Dach, at this point, is 3rd line RW. Anything more than that is setting yourself up for disappointment.
Guhle, Dach and Slafkovsky are similar in that all three seem to be in dangerous positions on the ice and take the brunt of physical contact. Is it just a fluke, or is it a lack of awareness necessary to have a long career?Doesn’t Guhle have a significant injury history from his minor league days? Some players are more susceptible to injury, freak or not. If they’re missing time in their minor league career, chances are that trend will continue as an NHLer.![]()
Have you not seen him excel on the forecheck and cycle game? I have.Dach does not strike me as a player having much value in a bottom six role.
And before his injury he was the best hab in transition from the D zoneHave you not seen him excel on the forecheck and cycle game? I have.
Yeah I also saw him unable to get back defensively as am after affect.Have you not seen him excel on the forecheck and cycle game? I have.
I’m not even going to argue the veracity of this but, if that’s really what you saw, why are you even talking about playing him in the top6? Why is it an issue only if he plays on the 3rd line?Yeah I also saw him unable to get back defensively as am after affect.
Because his point production as a top 6 player was supposed to put him over the top.I’m not even going to argue the veracity of this but, if that’s really what you saw, why are you even talking about playing him in the top6? Why is it an issue only if he plays on the 3rd line?
