I'm guessing that Chicago would rather have Romanov now than Nazar.

Nazar has 4pts in his last 5gp and he's putting it together. On an awful team if he can squeeze a 40pt season as a rookie (currently pacing for 37), who would turn that down?I'm guessing that Chicago would rather have Romanov now than Nazar.
Let him start as stated - 4th line winger - and actually earn any promotion up the lineup.Start Dach out as 3rd line winger next season. If he can stay healthy, and plays well may move him up. Habs severely needs #2 center next year. Can't rely on Dach to fill the role
Muffin of a shot and no finish. Seems to lack hockey sense as well. I’m for giving him a chance to redeem himself, but going forward I do not rely on Kirby to be a positive contributor to this team. If he surprises great, we’re up a piece.Kirby Dach's are a dime a dozen in jr hockey, stop pretending he was a rare gem
A 6 foot 4 guy who can’t play is much closer to whatever need, right??It wasn't included - it was a three way deal.
Chicago got the 13th pick (Islanders) and a 4th rounder Habs
Habs got Dach
Islanders got Romanov and Habs 3rd
As for Nazar, we don't need another 5'10" forward.

Hage is important to us due to our barren C prospect depth but playmaking C prospects but Playmaking Cs are the least rare in prospect pools. It’s just many many of them never step up.This was you less than a year ago:View attachment 985732
So even you agree.
Too many people are disingenuous here and would rather spew useless drivel than have a genuine discussion.

I guess it’s undeniable Dach’s busting is painful, as would be Hage’s.
Kapanen isn't chopped liver either.Hage is at least tracking well with a splendid D+1.

I think people just have recency bias and a short memory tbhThis was you less than a year ago:View attachment 985732

Yes they would. They let Dylan Strome walk for nothing. AGAIN i repeat they did not qualify Dylan Strome and let him walk for nothing. People should stop with this Hawks management is genius BS.If Dach played liked he did with us in his first season, would they have traded him?
I'm sure they saw stuff they didn't like, not sure how much it had to do with injuries.
Big physical skilled centers are coveted by everyone. Losing him sucks. He was never healthy enough to put it together for an extended period of time. He joins the ranks of the coulda-beens and it’s f***ing sad.Kirby Dach's are a dime a dozen in jr hockey, stop pretending he was a rare gem

I watched that game too. I think O'Reilly would be good 2C for this team. I thought he has lost a step, but no he played strong game. Granlund would be another good option.I'm watching the Rangers vs Preds and Barron should be forward because he isn't cut out for NHL defense. He has good hands and can skate and seriously should be a forward.
So you think you got me? I'm not that high on Hage so what are you trying to do here? Dach was 5x the prospect Hage was, he made Team Canada first crack at the WJC, and guess what.. he got hurt. Dach went #3, Hage #21 - so technically he was 7x the prospect Hage was if you want to do the math? (mod)
you called Dach a "dime a dozen JR player", now you're anchoring to his 3OA draft position...
are you now suggesting that dime a dozen Jr players are worth 3OA picks?
sometimes, it's better to just own a bad take rather than keep doubling down with even worse takes... actually, it's always better.
Dach wasn’t 5x the prospect Hage was. He just happened to be a 6’4 RH centre so he was taken high. But his numbers were quite pedestrian for a Top 3 pick.So you think you got me?
