Let me know when he can stay healthy and play with healthy player, not a nearly broken Laine or Newhook

Don't you remember the Kirby Dach on the wing with Suzuki ?

Average playmaking , no way Jose, muffin shot who cares he was never drafted for his shot, the physical part should come if he can stay freakin healthy and gain mental toughness, but don't tell me you don't see some physicality in him unless you guys have your hate glass on
Staying healthy is part of the game. He can’t do it. So yeah I’m definitely holding it against him, he gets hurt from the slightest things.

Yeah I remember him on the wing with Suzuki and Caufield. Force-fed icetime and the vast majority of his points were from the PP.

And yes, he’s an average playmaker. Career high 28 assists. That is not "elite". Laine is a 40 goal scorer and is on a 40 goal pace. Dach can’t even get him the puck.

It’s just excuse after excuse

Time to move on from him. He hasn’t developed or improved since he came to MTL day 1. Cut him this offseason if you need to, he is not part of our future.

Another failed trade from KH.

...he's a winger; it's pretty clear to see that he doesn't have the GAME to play Center at the NHL level...they need to find a 2C and start playing Dach again on the RW where he seems much more comfortable and doesn't have the defensive responsibilities of a center...
Maybe Dach is the way to end up with a real 2C. Not by trading Dach alone but as one of the pieces going the other way.

Meantime, the fact that it’s taking so long for the Habs to announce his health update, is concerning.

Ok the # argument but you clearly miss the whole context since his arrival, and you are holding against him because he get injured

And Dach is not good cause he don't bound well with Laine, wow I guess Kariya and Selanne suck since they didn't do shit with Sakic in Colorado or perhaps Mogilny suck too cause he didn't deliver with Bure in Vancouver ?

Why does it have to be top 6 or bust for Dach. He is still making 3.362. His contract is not crazy. I'd look to grab Bennett or another 2C in the off-season and bump Dach down to 3C. IMO he would be perfect there. And, in a pinch he's not the worst option to move up to #2.

Playing him as a 3C next year, I think he would thrive a little bit. He is still an RFA at the end of his contract and we could look to keep him around for similar price.

Suzuki
Bennett or other
Dach
Beck

Or if we keep Evans, Dach shifts to wing and we have 5 guys that can play down the middle of the ice.

Is it fair to Kariya, Selanne, or Sakic to compare them to Kirby Dach??

No Dach is not good because he doesn't bound well with anyone.

Of course it matters..... Dach was a 21 year old top pick on a rebuilding team. hes shown zero improvement wot warrant top 6 ice time. The gm saw this and shipped him before his value tanked as it now has proven to be the case.
This is so far off what actually happened over there…

Regardless of my disappointment, I would prefer if Dach were successful. He needs to train like he's never trained before this summer, every kind of training, several hours a day, eat a lot of chicken breast and broccoli, do stretches and HIIT, or he'll definitely end up in Europe.

As Habs fans we have been complaining for twenty plus years of young players not being given fair chances. Dach himself was given great chances to succeed, he just kept failing.

Dach was hardly playing splendidly before the injury.
He’s been constantly hurt. The guy is a really good player but hasn’t been able to stay healthy long enough to hit his potential.

And if he’s out for the rest of the year, that’s it. Finding a 2nd line center is mandatory. He can stay with us but we can’t depend on him. Super sucks but it is what it is. The Habs have been as patient as they can be.

There are reasons why a 3rd overall pick was traded for draft picks 3 years after being drafted and it’s not injuries or Chicago blowing it up, it’s because Dach is lazy, inconsistent, nonchalant, poor hockey IQ, poor work ethic. He’s got the size and talent, but it’s not there between the ears.

I was a mistake that set the team back in the rebuild.

I second this opinion, he looks like a man-child, immature, not a professional.

A mystery injury coming back from a break is strange.

Where did I compare them ?

No Dach is not good because he doesn't bound well with anyone.
Dach may very well not be a play driver by himself but with the flash he has shown on the wing with the 1st line I would disagree he cannot bound with anyone

When should we expect an update. They said 24 hrs yesterday but I'm not holding my breath. I remember two seasons ago we were led to believe Dach was on the verge of returning for a couple of weeks before they finally admitted his season was done.

At this point, unless they beleive that Dach as some off ice issues, you should see him as "work in progress" without a known target in mind. trading him will be at a lost, so rebuild the guy on the 3rd line W.

Dach has many other problems. But the narrative that Chicago knew for a fact 120% he would never pan out is absolutely ridiculous as he was just 21. The main reason he was traded is the same as DeBrincat, Hagel and the same reason the Hakws did not qualify Dylan Strome. That reason is curently the Hawks first line center.

It's kind of funy that the same management who knew for a fact Dach would not pan out actually misread Dylan Strome to a point they actually let him go for absolutely nothing. Nah the Hawks knew what they were doing when they traded all their young players like Hagel, Dach and DeBrincat and that plan was called Connor Bedard.

A trade that sadly has become a nightmare. He seems like a great kid but that's besides the point. Chicago decides to undertake a rebuild and decide to rid themselves of a 21 year 6"4 RH center drafted 3rd overall, the type of player you would think you start your rebuild around.
