Kingston Frontenacs 2024 25 Season Thread Part Iii

Would like the fronts to make a trade with Flint and acquire saginaws 3rd round pick this year which will be around the middle of the 3rd round. They have a crap ton of picks and when we rebuild next year we will get some more 2028 picks

Proposed trade: 55th pick in this draft (Sag 3rd) for Brantfords 4th and 5th picks in the 2028 draft (years away and flint will be fully stocked pretty much every year the next couple years- they already have a 3rd this draft with Londons selection)

If fronts don’t do something like this their picks inside the top 6 rounds are:

9th, 17th, 71st, 92nd, 114th, 118th.

Gap of 54 picks from 2nd to 3rd pick. Significant skill drop off going from end of first round to middle of 4th. Probably even from middle of third to middle of 4th too.

Ideally 9th and 17th obviously make team next year then that has the 55th, 71st, 92nd, 114th and 118th fighting for final 2 spots on for the 16 year old A card players.

Lots of conditionals potentially coming Kingston's way for 2028.
2027 4th for Manza.
2028 3rd,4th and 5th for Malholtra
2028 2nd for Thibodeau

Manza I assume is based on playing 1 game with sarnia. The 3rd/4th/5th is that the same with Brantford? Thibodeaus based on an overage season?

I was looking at some past drafts this week and I noticed that Tanner Nettleton (2024 4th rounder) played 2 games in the BCHL at the end of the year.

Not sure if it means much/anything in terms of him playing in Kingston next year but thought it was a little odd

Lines posted - no surprises at all, same as each game in round 1.

I could be wrong but I don't think they've had a game where both teams are at full health/strength - should be an exciting game.

I'm a little concerned about Pieniniemi too, he got crunched early, it felt like he missed a few shifts and I only noticed him out there when McGowan went out.

They didn't show a replay of the Pieniniemi hit but the McGowan one was just unfortunate because he slipped which made him take the hit at an awkward angle.

Pienniemi got cut from high stick. McGowan taken to hospital

Shit going to hospital that quick makes me think either something clearly broken or something potentially risky where they're playing it super safe.
The way he reacted skating away indicated something was not right with his collar bone / sternum area.

Disappointing game... started well but turned into quite the stinker.

I kinda get what Miedema was trying to do but losing that PP opportunity at the beginning of the second to regain the momentum was not smart...

If that's how the series is going to be called Kingston needs to adjust and play closer to the line - some of the little stuff they expected to be called wasn't.

Schenkel needs to improve rebound control. Some of the goals weren't really his fault but he could've helped himself with better rebound control - but also, the D need to win those battles.

I hope that's not the case.... But he definitely went in weirdly so who knows, at first I was a concerned with the way his neck bent

Once the hockey gods saw that 2-0 lead they needed to do something obviously. This is the Frontenacs we’re talking about

Reffing was great! 10/10. Definitely had nothing to do with outcome of game! 4 powerplays to nothing and countless no calls on Barrie and #78 Eliasson.

What do you expect with the second worst ref in the league trying to steal the show? (Ferguson)

Kingston got a warning for mouthing off to the refs after McGowan got crunched

The irony in this??
If they call the penalties when they happen there’s absolutely NO mouthing off and perhaps a different outcome of the game.

lets also be realistic here- you did not deserve to win that game refs or not. majority of the good chances were on Barrie's side despite the shot clock (lots of perimeter shootimg) and your goalie let in 2 softies. Not a recipe for success

Barrie going to be tough to beat, Charlie had a rough night. Need to stay out of the penalty box.

Question Is Burns going to miss games for abuse of ref? With McGowan out, losing Burns for a couple of games will almost be a death knoll.

Looking at shots on goal, I would almost think that you also ran into a hot goalie. 33-12 in the first two periods and only 2 goals says a lot.

They are gong to have to play a tougher game and Schenkel is going to have to stand on his head.

Just noticed Oshawa amost had the same game as Kingston 1st 2 goals 37-17 in the first 2 periods

I didn't realize they actually called abuse of officials, I figured that it was just a 10 minute unsportsmanlike misconduct.

If Burns is out for 2, along with McGowan being out, their chances of winning this series drop to close to zero.
