You’re making the assumption Musty gets traded.

No. I must have misunderstood you. I was always going on the assumption they were going to keep Msuty. When you responded, I thought you mean they had Musty as a trade piece “instead” of Blonda.

I agree that Musty is a great player and that if they are contending or trying to, he is a key component 100%.

My only issue is with so many other teams tossing out their ‘08, Sudbury cannot compete on draft picks alone. We are seeing Kingston having a tough time competing on draft picks alone.

ok? not sure what that has to do with kingston not being able to trade an 08 thou.

if they drafted someone other then malholta, they are in a better spot.

erie isnt doing anything other then small moves, so their 08 not being valued isnt as big of a deal
My point was people act like Challenger is major trade bait but Buttar has even out performed him who is also an 08.
So yea i guess Kingston kind of does have an 08 they could move right?

its not about what you think or what posters on here think, its about what ohl teams think. i dont know if they value buttar that much based on the fact that they are not in on guys like gibson, smith or others. now, had they drafted again, blonda, theyd be at the front of the line i think.

I have no idea how this will unfold, buy or sell? The one thing I’m fairly confident in : is if Musty is available and the Wolves don’t get fair value for him then #27 will finish his OHL career a Wolf. Because this year’s team has performed above expectations, I feel the fans are good either way.
Either way I would hope Paps will be looking at opportunities to add youth and depth for the remainder of this season and beyond. IMO Our Coaches, OAs (leadership group) and youth are having a great season it would be a shame to sell everything off.

Other than Hopkins I can't imagine any of the 07s having much value other than Dervin - and I can't imagine they'd have signed him, played him for a handful of games just to turn around and move him within a month.

Unless maybe OHL GMs really like Velliaris' potential?
If OHL gms want Velliaris they should be thinking next year, year after potentially as an OA for when he will be effective. Could be a similar player to Ben Roger I think. Definitely not a game changer by any means right now and probably never will be but could be a great top 2 or 4 d on the right team in a year or two

Have there been any rumblings on Kingston's goalie situation? We've talked on here about hypotheticals but with the actual trade chatter starting to pick up I'm wondering if anyone's heard what they're looking at doing goalie wise - I can't imagine there's many other teams in the market for a goalie, especially with Brampton making a move already.

Roger had hockey IQ but was concussed every time he got bumped unfortunately.
Xander only is on a roster because of his size / long stick. Watching him play a couple games you realize the IQ and decision making is as bad as you will see at this level. I don’t think they could pay someone to take him.

Absolutely brutal call on Pieniniemi to kick him out of the quarterfinal. Clean hit, Radivojevic trys to dodge last second and leaves his knee exposed.

Hopefully they hold on so that's not how he ends his tournament

I agree it is horrible. But he also is fast like Roger was. Velliaris is a big time project for sure. Lots of work needs to be done to be great in this league but he has the size and skating ability and that’s better than nothing.

He is going to the OHL Connor McDavid prospect game - so there must be someone out there that sees something.

BIg weekend coming up - they need at least 3 points I think to prove that they belong up at the top. I don't imagine Ritchie will be back tonight, and for tomorrow I'm guessing Barrie won't have Beaudoin and Akey back, and they'll still be missing Hemming and Hillebrandt (although by the sounds of it Hrebik has been an absolute monster since Hillebrandt left).

Hopefully McGowan is back but the Whig's article on Wednesday said he had an MRI in Ottawa yesterday with no timetable for his return, so I'm not too optimistic if they're still trying to pin down what's wrong.

I wonder if we'll see any of those "roster shake-ups" mentioned a few pages back today or if they'll happen next week (if they're still happening).

Obviously. I said he is tall and fast. He will be a project no doubt.
Apologies, as I was replying more to Scout for life who said "Xander only is on a roster because of his size / long stick. Watching him play a couple games you realize the IQ and decision making is as bad as you will see at this level."

Betts gets the start, Dervin out, McCuaig in for Kelly on the 4th line, still no McGowan so Mondoux plays again.

Honestly I love giving the chance to Betts against Oshawa. They've had Lalondes number all year so why not give the kid of a shot. Not ideal it's with a depleted D core but at least he's not coming in cold on a PP like the last time he played with Kingston...

Not much of a sales pitch to convince me otherwise.
For all we know it’s some guy that runs a Twitter page that sent out those invites to that game.
Feel free to provide a report on your ur observations on #77.
This should have been his time to thrive as he’s getting more playing time than ever but his decision making ability and IQ continues to get worse with every viewing.
What quality’s do you like that are not his size and long stick / reach?
I can’t think of any.

Why did that faceoff go all the way down? If Osters equipment comes loose it has to stay in the Oshawa zone... Unless there's a rule I haven't seen that makes no sense....

Unless it was blown down for some other reason I didn't notice

That needs to be the primary goalie nice Malik and Emil are back.
He played well other than the shaky start.
D put him in some very bad positions tonight.
100%. Tough break on the first goal but I think if Burns doesn't tap it in the Gens forward rushing taps it in. I think he'd like the Buckley PP goal back but that was an absolutely moronic penalty for Pickell to take.

I don't understand how no one retreated when the Sennecke penalty was ending... Betts was slamming his stick and with a guy as dangerous as Sennecke you cannot let him in free.

Oster seemed to really struggle with traffic tonight, the Burns goal and the Moore were almost exact copies - McCuaig didn't get a point but he had a nice high screen on Burns' goal.

@Scout - could you check how many minutes Burns played tonight on InStat? It could be just that i notice him more but I swear he must've been pushing 35-37 minutes tonight and it feels like it's been up around there since Pieniniemi left.

What a gritty, come from behind victory. Surprised I haven't seen anyone else on here complimenting the team yet. Down 4-1 to a team that's had your number all year long and you score six unanswered without some big pieces? Ridiculous comeback. Good for those guys.

I think "moronic" is a bit harsh. I think he was trying to fire the team up because it was clear they were not sharp and quite lethargic. He also made up for it by scoring the game winner and assisting on another.
Good game by Williamson again, and nice to see Moore get another one.
McNamara still can't finish - seems to have lost any confidence he had.

Yeah you're right "moronic" might be a bit harsh but with a PP like Oshawa's they can't give them extra opportunities, especially after giving up an early one - but like you said he definitely did make up for it.
