This team might be something... 88-93-8 is one of if not the best line in the OHL incredible, Willis with his first big game as a Front, and Schenkel still not good enough tonight but did come up big in the shootout. Another comeback win for the boys

But with goaltending like tonight, we ain't going anywhere sooooo it is all on that lol

Oh stop it. Do you actually watch the games? How many of the goals can be Charlie’s fault, 2 maybe?

I'm admittedly very reactionary when I post here, especially after games, but I'm very worried about goaltending. Schenkel has not been as advertised and whether it's the team or him, they're down early waaaay too often.
Seriously you all just look at scores and shots - watch the games, you may just enjoy yourself. Stop looking at your phones and posting on the board. Watch the plays develop, see what happens in the 3-4-5 puck touches before a goal. Schenkel was lousy his first two games, he’s been solid when needed to be since then.

Yes, obviously a lot of the goals are high-danger chances... but you need a SAVE every now and then, and it is still early into the trade and I do believe he will turn it around once he's had a chance to settle in, I'm basing my opinion off of a small sample size remember that

He made the saves that were needed. I believe it was Grant Fuhr who once said I don’t care if I let in 4 goals as long as I stop the next one.

It's very true. We won, which I'll always take to heart the most. The point I was trying to make is that this kind of winning is very unsustainable when we have to score 5+ goals to win most nights. I have complete confidence that he will turn it around soon, though. Haven't had this much excitement about a Fronts team like this in a while.

Fully agree! This team is talented and incredibly scrappy- let’s enjoy it

What a wild game that was.

I agree with Logos. Sure on the stat sheet- Schenkel played like shit but he made quite a few very high quality shots, sure a couple were his fault too, but overall it wasn’t a horrible game by him.

53 shots including 25 in the 2nd period. A crappy first period followed up by one of the best periods of hockey we have had this season. After the first period when they had 12 shots- the spirit only had 14 total for the rest of the game. Way to shut them down.

Very special team. Love that Willis, hay and bishop weren’t tiptoeing around their former teammates and what an amazing game by Willis. That’s what we paid for right there.

ALSO

Hopkins 10 pts in the last 10 games. In his 18 and 19 year old seasons he’s going to be real good.

It’s a good trait for a goalie having a rough time to have the confidence he showed in the SO. Schenkel is 4-0 despite an 0.843 SV%; so all good, I guess.

It kinda sucks that maybe only 50 people stick around for the three stars - they were treated to an amazing Joey Willis interview on the ice. He was asked about playing his former team and he said "I told everyone in the room how bad I wanted this one and they showed up for the three of us who came from that room"

Then he was asked about how far the team could go, and Joey said "all the effing way", but he didn't say effing haha. This kid is amazing.

Going to be an exciting few months here.

Sag fan, the 3 guys you picked up from us are all quality players. Willis is one of the most underrated and a top 5 favorite player on my list, Hay just keeps playing solid and arguably the best face off guy in the league and Bishop is a big D who just keeps on developing each year.
Kingston has quickly become my 2nd favorite team and hope you guys take the Eastern Conference. With that said good luck the rest of the way and get used to Joey scoring, kid has a great release.

Just watched the highlights of the game from lat night. What were those special jerseys? Thought they looked great!
They were honouring the Kingston Red Barons, the first professional women's team in Kingston. They had members from the founding team from the 60's there to drop the puck and everything. Great night and great jerseys for sure!

Some line changes for today's afternoon game against the 67's

Battaglia-Guindon-Uronen
Willis-Hopkins-Soto
Miedema-Hay-Heyes
Clark-Buttar-Wright

Pieniniemi-Bishop
McGowan-Williamson
Uens-Moore

Vaccari gets the Start

Pickell comes out for Buttar (unsure why, banged up?) as well as Captain Quinton Burns coming out and Lucas Moore drawing back in (once again unsure why, maybe just banged up as well)

Not surprised with Vaccari starting, gives Schenkel a break after playing a couple of games in a row before the rest of the 5 game road trip goes West

To me, trades like Lalondes are really bad GM practices. If I am correct, Cooper had to do a sales job to get him to come to Kingston.

If you are working on a trade for a kid like that, you should have the decency to let him know so that he can pack up his kit in case he does get traded to the Soo.

instead, you are sending A kid to the Soo with just the clothes on his back and maybe a day or 2 extra.

Not a good look.

Is Schekle going to be the goalie that you need down the stretch?
Not sure who is evaluating the goalie talent in K-Town as Lalonde’s looks like a guy you should have kept. Don’t have the history leading up to the deadline but it sounded like (on your thread) that he was valued or appreciated! Nice rebound by Lalonde, in the best possible way when you are talking about a goalie..

Pickell hurt his shoulder last night.

Sick

Shitty game. Kind of expected when one of your best if not your best d man is out and you played until 9:30 the day before. Glad it was still very close but they definitely looked tired even in period 2 but especially period 3.

Still, that is only 1 player out of the whole lineup.

They need to find a way to at least get one point out of that game, especially taking a lead into the third and tied late. They can’t be losing two points to one of the worst teams in the league given the battle that they are in between first and fifth in the conference and first and third in the division.

Wasn’t the best game and didn’t get the stops when needed either. And Battaglia needs to be better.
