Yep. Hahn spoke with Gaborik pre-game and Gaborik noted the palpable "aura" in the Kings locker room of a team that has recently won and how noticeable it was coming to a team that had recently won the Cup. Said that all the players expect each other to do whatever it takes to win.

Drew's interview post-game sent shivers down my spine, how he was saying that was the best two months of his life and how he wants that feeling again.

It was special and it would be special again.

Is there a video or exact quote of this?

that's awesome. I hope I can dig this up and see it today!

Seems like this team is getting that swagger back at the right time. Last season in the playoffs was different--you could tell they knew what it took but it felt more like they were holding on for dear life. This feels different.

Honestly, Drew is a great interview. He doesn't shy away from topics and I think he might use it as self-motivation as well. I think we all remember at the start of the 2012 playoffs, when he said in an interview that in order for the Kings to go far, he'd have to be the best defenseman on the ice every night. Now he has one of the signature moments in recent Stanley Cup history. Then before the Penguins game, saying that he needed to stop Crosby, the best player in the world. Dude isn't shy about stating the obvious or afraid of the spotlight, that's for sure.

Should be another good run for the Kings, at least we are not facing the Blues again in the first round again. That series wrecked our chances at another repeat since we had so many guys injured. The Blues was the most brutal series since facing the Maple Leafs in the WCF years ago.

Quick looks great and we should destroy the Guppies in the first round.

I love that Drew never goes with the generic BS soundbites. He tells it like it is and is more than willing to put all the pressure on himself. Him talking last night about having to shut down all the top lines every night was exactly what I wanted to hear. So glad he's on our side.

Somebody mentioned before that Gaborik was the most skilled guy we've had on the team since Palffy. His vision, speed and finishing ability is pretty amazing. Hope we can keep the guy onboard. Seem like he's really enjoying his time here.

They mentioned on the telecast last night that Gaborik sensed an 'aura' about the team...I believe it was when they were interviewing Doughty at the end.

How about that Alec Martinez? I think it can be argued that over the last 10 or so games he has been our best defenseman. And he can play on both sides! I like him paired with Mitchell.

Well of course! He went from shivering in -20 degree weather nursing injuries to walking the beach in shorts eating ice cream with Alex Curry! Who wouldn't be having a nice time?

14 points and 17 games, and his ice time is climbing. He's starting to find opportunities for making hits like he used to as well. I can't believe how well Martinez is responding to a larger role, he's really surprising me.

The interview was featured on NHL Tonight.

Some of us have been begging for this for a long time ;) Can't see what you've got there until you put him in a position to try!

Congrats guys, you deserve it.

I hope I don't come across as a troll with this post and I don't mean to take away from what you guys did tonight though.

Kings exposed us as a non-playoff team tonight. Clearly no one except maybe our depth goalies considering Smith is out give a damn.

Good luck in the playoffs. I hate you guys in the regular season but come playoff time it's nice to see a Pacific team win. Do our division proud, okay? :)

Classy post, big ups. Here's hoping the Coyotes settle into the market for the long haul, genuinely!

Always nice to see fans of other teams respect each other. I was at both recent games where we got clowned by PHX in the third period after coming back from a two-goal deficit and then last night as well. PHX looked like two different teams. Not sure why, sure wasn't the goaltending as Greiss (2nd star) had a whale of an effort just didn't have the D in front of him much.

A couple of PHX fans sat in front of me, one of which was his first hockey game. The other turned around and asked who was the Kings' biggest rival; or course I said PHX. A natural rivalry built up of some mean games against each other. He agreed. The rivalry grows and let's hope the "Arizona" Coyotes stick around for a lot more than five years. :)

I have. He's still active.

I felt that Greiss had a fantastic game. The score could have easily been 7 or 8. I love the look he gave Quick after he stopped Carter's breakaway at the end of the second. Quick nodded in approval as they passed each other and Greiss smirked as to say, "Not bad right?"

I thought Damacles said Martinez was finished and we should trade him for a 5th last season :D:D:D Good times. I knew amart was a champ.
