Kings win 3-1 against Devils; Still can't score on empty net

What games were you watching? Lol. The Rangers were leading for more minutes by wide margin. Multiple games went to 2 OT and OT. You're acting like the Kings crushed the Rangers in every game 7-0 which is simply not true. Kings deserved to win the cup last year but stop acting like it was a cake walk.

It wasn't a cake walk but the Kings were by far more clutch in 3rd periods.

I dont understand it anyway. If he thinks its a cakewalk, than let him think it was a cakewalk.

This is our own board. I'm glad we can still say some things here. The main board has become a ******* joke. Now posts get deleted because it might hurt the feelings of opposing fans. No trolling, no personal attacks, not abusive language. Nothing of this at all, it just get deleted.

Calm down and go back to your board. This is not the place to defend the Ranger's honor. The snow piles saved you from being swept.

Our board is our safe haven. Can't flat-out attack posters/fanbases, but you should never feel afraid to let loose your opinion here. If someone comes in guns-a-blazing because of it, let us know and we'll handle it appropriately.

The main board is neutral territory and of course as such will be subject to people attempting to keep the peace.

Opposing team boards, as stated yesterday, are for the fans of that team. If you go in and 'defend our team', whether it's well-intentioned or not, it's liable to be deleted to save a flamefest.

I'm getting sick of all the opposing fans coming in here to gloat, demand respect for their clubs, and stir crap up every game. I guess that's the price of winning.

It's because Quick allowed zero goals in five third periods and five overtimes and Hank allowed six in the same five third periods and five oveerimes but let's just continue with the myth that Hank is a better clutch goaltender because inconsolable Rangers' fan might not be able to stomach the cold reality that is the truth.

Maybe moderators from outside our board should consult with you guys first before indiscriminately handing out infractions without constraint and hamstringing posters like me for a month.

But that's just me.

Talking about mod actions is obviously not going to fly, but for sake of making this part public, that's where 'report post' comes in. This board has a habit of not using that and of instead flaming the bejesus out of visitors, warranted or not. I would EXPECT visitors tonight for obvious reasons, and local board or not, if people are just blasting the hell out of each other, bad things happen.

As far as the main board, no one there has the context we get daily here, I would argue actions HAVE to be sweeping and drastic there due to fans of all teams and nations being there, and visitors should post accordingly.

Here's the bottom line on the 2014 Stanley Cup Ranger fans:

When the Kings beat Chicago in the WCF they won the Stanley Cup. There were likely 3 or 4 teams in the Western Conference last season that would have defeated the Rangers in the SCF.

The truth is the Kings played sub-par hockey in the SCF because they were likely drained both physically and emotionally, and they still had enough in reserve to nearly sweep the Rangers. END OF STORY.

I was watching the games where the Kings were ahead on the scoreboard at the end of the game. Which games were you watching?

The Kings by almost every statistical metric outperformed the Rangers and in the end, the series result agreed with it. How often did we hear that Hank "outplayed" Quick and even reading arguments about Hank, in a losing effort, should be considered for the Conn Smythe? Statistically, the Kings were clearly the better team. Most observers who watched the games, would also agree. The 4-1 series record was also indicative of the tilted ice. The fact that the Rangers were able to counter-punch their way to early leads in games and force overtimes (after blowing leads) is a nice story. But that's all it is.

This is the truth of it. The same goes for 2012. Although, NJ did surprise me a bit. The bottom line is both years when the Kings made it passed the Conference Final, I think most fans thought the Kings could win. 2012 might be an exception because I think everyone was still kind of waiting for the Kings to pull the rug out from under them as they'd done for the previous 40 something years. In 2012, when the Kings beat Vancouver and Chicago was out, I knew all the remaining teams were favorable Kings match ups and their record in the regular season against those teams proved it. No team really gave them much of a challenge until NJ. Last year, I didn't think for a second NY would win before the series started. When NY came out flying in the first period and Doughty coughed up the turnover I was a bit concerned but that didn't last long. If the Rangers could've sustained that type of play for 60 minutes, they might have won another game or two but I agree with you KINGS17, I think the Kings were gassed and still beat them in 5 games.

Holy hell the amount of visitor posts we get...guess we're just that popular.

I'm relatively new to this site and was shocked at how heavily moderated the threads are. Posts that I thought were friendly jabs got ninja-deleted. Just decided to post less on the main boards since it's sometimes literally pointless.

But seriously, are Minnesota, Calgary or Winnipeg ever going to lose another game?

Why isn't Vancouver included in the list of teams that could possibly lose? The Canucks have shown a sense of contentment and satisfaction after winning a couple of games resulting in losses to teams like Toronto, Columbus, Colorado, Dallas, New Jersey, Buffalo, Arizona.

The Canucks barely beat the Coyotes the other night after what was an emotionally draining win over the Kings the night before.

There's some concern among Canuck-nation that the Canucks will stumble down the stretch. The Canucks have failed to close out a stretch of games the right way this season, so there's a fair bit of hand-wringing going on around these parts.

But I'm sincerely curious -- do Kings faithful think the Canucks can't be caught in the standings?
