You may have noticed this is not last year and the King's haven't been playing the same as last year.

Still have most of the same players.... all they have to do is get in and they can make some noise. I agree they are not the same but i also feel they are a top 8 team in the west(top 3 in pacific) and will get in, likely a division spot not wild card. Vancouver is going to slow down(if they haven't already).... and i dont think calgary will hold them off.

Can we get this thread pinned? Don't want miss that golden moment where the Kings' hubris collapses in upon itself and the bandwagon implodes into a vacuum of silence.

You may have a long wait.

Meanwhile, jump on. There's always room for one more.

Kings have left a lot of points on the table in overtime/shootout losses, 1 goal games. I would almost consider getting someone that can score in shootouts... if they won a 3rd of their shootouts they would be pretty comfortably in the playoffs at this point.

I was happy after last nights game as both a Hawks and Kings hater after what I saw.

Unlike previous years, both teams seem to have some serious issues, mostly in their defense and goaltending.

I'm salivating at the fact that we might actually beat one of them. Maybe.

Hmm, let's see...

...last five seasons, Hawks have won the Cup twice, and the Kings have won the Cup twice.

The Blues were the doormat launching pad for the Kings win in 2012, got crunched by the Kings again in 2013, and crunched by the Hawks in 2014.

I can see why you hate both teams.

But it seems to be affecting your judgment. That was an awesome game last night, with both teams going full blast as though it was the playoffs. All I saw was greatness. Sure the teams have issues, what teams don't? It's all about how you step it up when you need to step it up.

Which the Blues, sadly enough, can't seem to do during crunch time.

Although I think the Kings will make the playoffs, I do not think these are the same Kings (in their quality of play) that won two cups. They have played a lot of games the last three years, including the Olympics and at some point the fatigue could set in. That, missing Voynov, lack of cap space to make a quality trade and the fact that other teams have gotten better will make it very tough to repeat.

Lol, please.. the blues. The little engines that couldn't, can't and won't.

I think they are worrying more about getting into the playoffs right now. Once in, anything is possible and they have the experience.

First they have to get into the playoffs to win the cup again.

The Pacific playoff spot, outside of Ducks at 1st, the flames, sharks, canucks, and kings are within 2 points of eachother.

Kings 54
Flames 55
Canucks 55
Sharks 56

It's a madhouse out here and I suspect they'll flip the switch and stroll into the playoffs.

People acting like they are so far out(i will say kings do have one of the tougher remaining schedules tho)

But i think the flames are still young and will end up a wild card at best, and i think the canucks over achieved for most of the first half of the season.

Honestly, these two teams are really, really close. It's amazing how close they are. It always seems to come down to a few bounces that decide the game because neither team makes a whole lot of mistakes.

The thing I enjoy most about these two teams is that both teams want to win so bad, but its never about shenanigans after the whistle. Its getting more chippy as the rivalry builds, but for the most part its hard played hockey.
