"Dummied" the Hawks? OK pal. ;)

Didn't get a chance to respond to this when it was posted in the GDT before it closed, but am kind of amused at the Kings chirping Kane of all people on their twitter when he's the Hawk who showed up the most in this one.

That's just what the LA twitter account does, plus why wouldn't they chirp Kane? No sense in chirping Ben Smith or someone of that caliber. It was meant to rustle some jimmies.

Like it matters for this team. They'll flip the switch like always, and go 16-0 in the playoffs while allowing 10 goals. Just stupid.
going to troll the sharks again, after trailing the series 10-0 they will win 11 straight, and win the series clincher 11-10

LOL, guess you haven't been paying much attention the past three seasons.

2012: 8th
2013: 5th
2014: 6th

It's pretty much a given fact that this team barely shows up for the regular season. They didn't clinch a playoff spot until the last 3 games in 2012, and while not conducting research, it's probably a lock they didn't clinch in 2013 and 2014 either until pretty late, given their final place in the standings.

Here's the thing about things - they change.

Not sure it's the smartest idea to provide motivation to the guy who had 10 points against them last year, and bounced them out with a hat trick the year before ...

He has bigger problems if he's going to be motivated by a twitter account...just sayin.

Kings win a regular season game. Good for them. Classless Twitter account trolling as usual. Gutless.

:laugh:Sadly, I could see it happening, and I wouldn't be opposed to that. I'd like to see Thornton's reaction to that.

You honestly think Patrick Kane cares what some community manager tweets about him?

I agree that they are better than last year but making the finals twice in a row is very hard. I'm feeling a new team this year.

are you talking about that team that gets 30 to 50 shots on goal per game, relying on a goalie in a semi-trapping system waiting for 3 on 2/ 2 on 1/ counter attacks and win a game that they don't usually deserve?

meh i've seen weirder things happen

but right now, the real teams to beat are NYR & TB in the East

It's a rather common phenomenon for athletes to be motivated by the opposing team talking trash.

Do a Google search on "sports" and you'll probably find some useful info on the subject.

Here's the thing, there is an old saying the more things change the more the stay the same.

The Kings philosophy just get into the playoff's don't worry about winning the division.

No reason to think it won't work again. They certainly have not put forth a lot of effort the first have of the season.

Eh, athletes always look for things to motivate themselves.

Which is why they're always talking about someone not respecting them.

And why coaches always talk about not providing bulletin board material.

You realize they're not even in a ****ing wild card spot, right? You can't win the Cup if you don't make the playoffs.

really? the West is that bad this year? because LA's been stinkin' bad this year...ah well

Canucks have a couple of games in hand, but Kings Canucks, Sharks, and Flames are not exactly poster boys for great hockey but still fun..:handclap:

If the Kings could win half of their skills competition games they would be 2nd in the Pacific, and have same points as Hawks

The beauty of the playoff's no skill competition
