He's done it multiple times in the past....he's put Gardiner (a lefty) with Rielly a few times recently. I don't think handedness is going to block a trade.

Where did he say lesser prospect? Almost every playoff team has a need for a quality defenseman. If everyone is willing to pay a first and prospect someone is going to ante up someone good.
