Budja has outplayed Zatkoff in the preseason. Brown with another goal. Management has put his ass to work and played him almost all preseason games.

I think he was pretty bad last night. He had no jump and was pretty meh. Wasn't a great effort IMO

Agreed. Although Sutter juggled the line in the 3rd and put him with Dowd and Mersch. I thought he looked better in the 3rd on that line.

Action on the ice aside, how did those at the game like the new arena?

That opening by AEG was pretty cool but harder to appreciate in the seats we had, I am sure there is a youtube clip out there I will have to look for since it was a pretty sweet opening show. We left right as the horn sounded and made our way to the Aria knowing that NYNY and Monte Carlo taxi lines would be crazy. Hopped in a cab easy at Aria and heard over the radio some cabbies were in a fit trying to figure out how to deal with the temp road closures and blockages

Having a Shake Shack inside is a huge plus. Great comfortable seats with plenty of leg room.

Super easy walk back to Aria/Vdara.

Game didn't have as much juice to it as the MGM days, however. Probably a bigger crowd tonight though.

DK actually has some of the best hockey instincts on the team, just not a lot of speed/skill.

If this was the case, Sutter certainly wouldn't have him out there penalty killing at times. Besides, any Kings player who is clueless in the defensive zone wouldn't be on this team. King is not bad defensively at all.

You are correct.

See Matt frattin, it's what got him shipped out. Being bad at 200ft of ice.

So you are in favor of replacing him with a slower player that can't keep up with preseason pace?

Mersch is great for net front presence, but thats the only positive vs DK. I'm not a huge fan of King but I dont agree with your assessment.

DK always makes the safe play which is why Sutter likes him. And you will never convince me he is better defensively than DK as my eye test saw the exact opposite. Mersch couldnt even get into the play which I noticed numerous times (last season and this preseason)
