I don't understand piling on Zakoff. He's the only reason the game isn't 5-0.

First goal, Carter flubs an easy outlet resulting in an ice. Him and Muzz screw up coverage and Vanek scores from 2 ft.

Second goal was a breakaway.

Third goal Forbort gets danced around and DD puts the clearing pass right on a Red Wing stick 10 feet in front of the goal.

No goalie would've had a chance on any of those.

Doesn't help that Pearson missed his penalty shot either.

Basically the team crapped the bed this game.

Zatkoff hasn't been THE problem
The third goal was partially his fault ( bad rebound control) but more no one playing defense
The first two were caused by lazy plays
Setoguchi had a chance to skate to a puck and clear the zone. Instead he turns up ice too soon and leaves the puck behind.
Gravel on number 2 makes a bad pass and Dowd never gets the puck

Well, this was predictable. Just disappointing given we've seen this movie too many times before. I hoped against hope that they might have learned from Buffalo...or vancouver...or any number of games over the last few years that they didn't show up prepared for...but nope.


Yet....the worst part about that period is I'm now certain Tomas Vanek will be a King.

I missed the first goal, but Zatkoff hasn't been the solution, he looks unsettled in net. That breakaway he looked like he just closed his eyes and crossed his fingers. It's can't be easy playing once in a blue moon, but he hasn't been effective in my opinion.

he could have had the first one but the coverage was poor. I think it was actually Martinez on that god awful pass for the 2nd goal....what was he thinking??! I feel like whenever any team gets a breakaway on Zatkoff its an automatic goal.

Clague was solid for team Canada, and had a ton of ice time.
