Man I'd hate to lose this series.. I'm super anxious to see how it plays out. I had a much better idea on what to expect from a Kings/Sharks series than I have a Kings/Ducks one, feels like anything can happen.

Has we lost to San Jose I would have been upset but not near as upset if we lose to the Ducks.
Cannot stand Perry.

Does our team know how to beat the Ducks in the playoffs? Regular season seems to be rather challenging....

Can we start making Getzlaf is bald jokes, or is it too soon?

because guys...

you know...

he is bald.

Also this ghastly jaw cage:

I know people know this, but its imo the reason why the kings are built for the playoffs. It heavily relies on a huge forecheck and forcing turnovers. They simply can't play with the energy needed over the course of a season.

With gabs and pearson now embedded in the lineup I feel the kings team speed will be able to keep of with the faster ducks which I feel killed the kings against them in the regular season. Coupled with the fact the kings can actually score in the playoffs makes me think kings in 6.

Is it me, or are the Ducks basically just a slightly better version of the Sharks? Offensive depth, overrated defense (IMO), and a big question in net. The Ducks have also had real problems getting out of their zone quickly recently, which would play right into the Kings hands if that continues.

IMO
Offensive depth: Sharks>Ducks
Defensive Depth: Sharks > Ducks
Goaltending: Ducks > Sharks

I think if we're looking at recent history it may be different.

Sharks depth might be better on paper but Ducks are getting it done and I hope the players don't continue to underrate them.

Defense, Ducks is underrated, but is prone to mistakes just like SJs--have to pound them and capitalize.

Goaltending, Ducks are actually really struggling there and is their potential achilles heel unless one of them gets it together, but both have historically performed well against the Kings. Will be important to get one in early and get in their kitchen often.

The Kings need to wear sunglasses the whole time, the light reflecting off Getzlafs massive bald spot is going to be as bright as looking into the sun.

I really like Fowler and Lindholm but think they are not quite at the level of Boyle and Vlasic. Robidas is a big loss for them.
I don't think the ducks forwards will do well with the kings forecheck. They may have a good game one but will break down. Selanne and Koivu are too old to be able to stay healthy through this series. Once they are not 100% the ducks do not have a 2nd line. they have a great 3rd and 4th line, but their 2nd is weak .

Bonino is like 180 likes cogliano. I have no doubt Stoll will give them a nice introduction to the boards.

I like how some of the Ducks fans are like "they need to be careful and protect themselves against the big bad Kings" as if the Kings are intentionally out trying to hurt people. This is coming from fans of a team that used to employ Chris "how does my elbow smell?" Pronger.

It was like when canuck fans were complaining about brown going down to easily.

Heard that all last series, too. Kings are so dirty, etc. Granted, Stoll took out Vlasic, but that was far from the dirtiest play. Thornton's knee on brown, Torres' sucker punch on Williams, Torres elbow on Williams, Mike Brown plowing Voynov into Quick, those all get passes as good, gritty hockey...

We're not squeaky clean but there's a lot of confirmation bias when people see our rep. I have no doubt there will be some questionable plays in this series from both sides but I have no delusions that we're infinitely clean or that our opponents are unquestionably dirty. We are worried about Perry, for example, but I like that we don't go out of our way to make threads about every two-minute penalty.

The ducks can't hurt the kings. They have no strong players. Thank God no more ****ing Brent Burns destroying our defense.

I'm really unworried about this series. There's just nothing about the Ducks that really impresses me.

If Bodreau doesn't shy away from the Getzlaf-Kopitar matchup, this is going to be a short series. Ducks can have all the bottom six praise they feel they deserve, Bonino isn't going to win them this series by himself.

Kings in 5. I really mean that.

According to some Ducks fans, our entire fanbase is classless and likes to pour beer on opposing fans and make kids with special needs cry.

This is going to be an ugly series. :(

We are classless!!! Embrace it!

I wish I was that confident. I still think the Kings take this, but the Ducks do have the offensive skill that just seems to get through us. I'm hoping our refocused effort on defense will stifle them a bit in that area. We're starting to score again which is good, but San Jose also had more defensive breakdowns than I expect from the Ducks. It will be a closer series, but at the same time I don't think we spot the Ducks 3 games before we start playing our game.

I don't want to be overconfident, but it feels like the Kings just scaled Everest. Kopitar is playing the best hockey of his life, Doughty is playing like the best defenseman on the planet, and Quick is settling in. This team is clicking.
