Just finished watching the game.

I thought the third line looked great, they actually carry a threat. Once Kempe settles down and stops trying too hard he's going to be fine. I saw enough in his game , just not consistently. He looks like he is fighting for a roster spot in his own mind at least and he's over extending himself. As soon as he makes the opening night roster and the pressure is off he will be fine. Dowd is much better on the wing.

Then there is Iafallo. I am seriously excited by him, he is a lock to make the opening night roster. It's wishful thinking that we've all had for Brodzinski, he will be in Ontario as he is no where near ready imo. Iafallo has top 6 talent and I'm putting money on him making a significant impact. I'm really high on this guy and cannot see how he gets sent down.

Kuemper played great I thought. I'm more than happy at him being the backup, I just pray Campbell clears waivers. Forbert looks great also. He's playing like a seasoned vet and he's going to eat up plenty of minutes this year. I also think we've been under rating Folin. He's nothing special and not a Matt Greene type of player but for a number 6 d-man he's going to be nice and steady.

The star of preseason, for me, has been Stevens. He's done a great job and you can see the difference he has made already. The tempo of our offensive game is totally different and has much more purpose in trying to make things happen, rather than waiting for the law of averages to kick in and have a bounce go our way. It's early days but it's only going to get better. It'll take the veteran forwards longest to adapt as they've been playing a certain way for so long, but they will get it. I thought Kopitar had a quiet game but in a good way. He was more involved and looked more in tune with the tempo. He could easily have had 3-4 assists tonight. It'll be 3/4 competitive games in and then we will see he's going to have a good year.

I'm really looking forward to this season. The glass is slightly more than half full...

Faust is too complimentary to the opposition. I don’t want him to go full homer but I also don’t want to hear about nice plays the Ducks are making.

I’m sure that was partly because the Ducks didn’t have their own TV broadcast tonight so Faust was having to appease both fan bases.

for those complaining about the lack of scoring this game, let's give a little credit to Gibson here, huh? the dude had a great game where the Kings could of easily had 3-4 goals going into the 3rd. I can't remember the last time watching a Kings game where they had so many grade-A scoring chances...thank you, Stevens.

Meaniless game
Ducks missing a bunch of guys
But
Killed two 5 on 3s
Kept them scoreless for 60+ minutes
Players stood up for each other ( even if the hits were not that bad)
And winning is always better than losing ( even in preseason)

With the last pre-season game in the books who are ya'll thinking makes the line-up?

Cammalleri/Kopitar/Brown
Pearson/Carter/Toffoli
Iafallo/Kempe/Dowd
Clifford/Shore/Lewis
*Auger, Andreoff, Laich, Brodzinski

Forbort/Doughty
Muzzin/Martinez
Fantenberg/Folin
*MacDermid, LaDue

Quick
Kuemper/Campbell

Unfortunately I think Campbell will be sent down which makes me nervous. Looking at our possible 14th forward options I feel like we might just run 8D. Brodzinski could definitely use some time down in the A, Andreoff is pretty much useless, Laich was okay (Besides the OT goal he didn't really show too much throughout the game convincing me he deserves a roster spot) I'd keep both Auger and Iafallo up with the big boys then run 8D and pray Campbell isn't claimed.

Auger and Campbell were waived this morning. The wildcards are Laich and Gaborik. If Laich is released and Gaborik starts the season on IR, then Brodzinski and Iafallo will likely start on the team. If Gaborik is on the roster, then Brodz or Iafallo are going down to ONT. If both Laich and Gaborik are on the opening day roster (not likely but could happen), two forwards are going to be sent down. A side note, Kempe nor Brodzinski had a good camp, at least game wise. Iafallo has no pro experience at all but looks like he belongs. MacDermid is going to be sent to ONT.
