Kings/Sharks EPIX 24/7 (esque) Road to the Stadium Series Thread

I am watching episode 1- What is up with Burns' 1970's era porn van?

Finally saw last night's episode. Man, Pavelski is ****ing all that is man.

Kyle Clifford's kid has gotten so big from when he was sitting in the cup. Adorable.

And my goodness, the amount of emphasis the Sharks put on the powerplay...I'm not going to say that's WHY they fail in the playoffs, but it can sure be another reason being as the whistles get put away. Special teams battles are important, but you're going to win more games crushing teams 5v5 since you'll be drawing penalties too.

This whole series has been disappointing and a big step down in quality from what HBO did. It's pretty much just game highlights with cheesy narration and around eight minutes of behind the scenes stuff. The fact they didn't even touch upon Richards going to the AHL is embarrassing. I also don't think Quick has said a single word on camera so far. It's a chore to get through.

I liked the bit where Joe Pavelski tells the team they need to get serious about playing playoff style hockey and then he goes and scores a hat trick. Love that guy.

i hate the Sharts with every fiber of my being but that part was absolutely amazing. he needs to be the captain up there, no one else seems to speak up or right the ship when the going gets rough. hes a real leader

I for one, enjoyed binge-watching the three episodes. The NHL needs more stuff like this. It probably needs a dedicated NFL Films style dedicated crew focusing on one game a week. That way they'd develop a house style, trust with the players and coaching staff, etc.

I'm watching this because of the Kings content, but would watch it weekly whoever was playing.

But yeah, no mention of Mike Richards is strange.

Bit of a spoiler for tonight.....

Last EPIX show is solid. Dustin Brown, after win: "I think we're supposed to shake hands (with SJ). We're not shaking hands. No way"

Way to go classless Captain!
