I thought this would be a good spot to put this bad info. Don't expect allot from GabeV to start this season. Another minor set back could slow him down a little more than before.

The thing about Gabby is that he is an elite level player when healthy. He is easily more talented then all but two of the players in his draft year but his fragility is an issue and now could be one that sidelines him again this season. His grit and determination to make it into our line up is the best thing he has going for him but it may not be enough. I hate to be down on a great kid with tons of upside but sometimes there are physical limitations that are extremely difficult to get over.

I believe in the kid and sure hope he can overcome this recent set back but it has just added to his troubles.

Mikey Anderson has been working a ton with both strength conditioning and skating coaches this summer. He has put on a few lbs of muscle and the last time I saw him skating he was in a grove. His balance and stride are upper level NHL caliber and his positional awareness is pretty solid too. Not only does he know where he is on the ice in all 3 zones most all of the time but he sees the puck and his team mates at an above average skill level. For a player his age and level of experience I think he should be an NHL regular and a good one at that in a season or two at the outside and a good one at that.

Arthur Kaliyev is going to make EVERYONE who thought he wasn't worthy of being taken in the first round regret their decision. He hasn't missed a trick this summer and is a review junkie. He watches hours of film and then skates it out everyday. Another strength and conditioning addict AK is going to give his all to try and make the team and I think he has a shot this season. His upside is really really solid.

One of my favorite additions to the team last season was Grundstrom. I think that kid has star power forward written all over him. I won't be surprised at all if he has a 20 goal season in his first full NHL this year. What a great pick up he has been.

Wagner's speed and quickness is up there with the best and his wrister is pretty solid too.

O.K., so I have a confession to make. I am not the biggest Turcotte fan in the world. I see him as a harder working Braden Schenn. Not that there is anything wrong with it but after watching the past two seasons I have and still do see his upside being a 2nd line center. A great problem to have but imo he was a safe pick. A very good one but I would have chosen differently. That said he has had a summer that makes non believers like me think that we may be wrong. Time will tell.

That's all I have for today. Hey to all my friends here and yes both of my kidneys are functioning. Back to being able to skate soon god willing.
