How is he doing in Ontario and Manchester? Do you think he might get a call up this season? Thanks.

If we are talking about Strand the answer is no. Roy will be getting a call up soon to get a look at how he does at the next level. Current RHD prospect rankings 24 years and under from someone who sees them play every week:

1) Walker
2) Roy
3) Strand
4) Durzi (not yet signed to an ELC)

Now, I think Strand definitely has potential, but he is a rookie that started in the ECHL this season and has made his way back to the AHL where is typically alternates playing with Reddekopp IF the Reign have 7 healthy players on D. Strand has good poise with the puck for his tall stature and handles the puck well, he can play physical but needs to fill out and get stronger and has a heavy shot. He needs to work on his balance and skating, and his defense is a work in progress, pretty typical for a first year pro. I like him substantially more than Reddekopp, but I think Strand may get a look late next season or when he is 23 the following year IF he continues to improve defensively.

Thanks. I didn't realize Strand was so raw. Having patience with him is good by me.

Kupari with 1+1 today in the first period, didn't return to the game in the 2nd or 3rd period because of injury, shouldn't be anything serious.

His assist

Not much talk of him after the WJC's, had a bit of slow start with no points in two games but he now has 5 points in last 4 games. Was also chosen to Finnish national team in EHT tournament for next weekend.

Thomas is now 1.62 PPG, 5th in the entire OHL.

I wonder how much of it has to do with Robertson and the team being awesome, but that's still exactly the kind of progression you hope for.

I think this is a good point. Enter into evidence that Studnicka and Tomasino are both on the third line on that team so they are loaded.

I'd be interested in Akil's splits before Robertson arrived 18 games ago. I know Robertson went from 1.58 pts per game in Kingston (pretty damn good on a poor team) to 2.22 per game with the Ice Dogs since he arrived.

Regardless, like you, I'm thrilled with Akil's progression.

last 18--15 G, 17A, 32pts 1.78 PPG
previous 25-- 11G, 28A, 39pts 1.56 PPG

Slight boost in PPG but took on more of a goal scoring role than playmaking role it seems

Very interesting. Thanks for looking that up.

I think Robertson's went the other way, saw his assist total spike while his goal scoring (proportionally speaking) went down since the trade.

Guess they've clicked as a pairing.
