Zadorov. I have no interest in Muzzin. Zadorov is someone I'd love. He'd add a ton of bone breaking on the Kings.

Trade Bustfield for a LHD.

Sign Forsberg

PROSPER.

Did anyone watch the world juniors today? How did the big kid 6’6” from Finland look? I had it on at work but was to busy to watch it. I’m a bartender…

Well yes.

Just like I'd rather have a 1st line winger instead of Iafallo.

Problem is, a long term solution LD may not be available. And if that's the case, there might not be many better options than Muzzin if he's cheap.

Other options include re-signing Maatta or Edler or Wolanin.

Our current LD depth chart is:
Anderson
Björnfot
Moverare
Nousiainen?

Might be the worst in the NHL. Beggars can't be choosers. Unless we're going to start putting right shot guys on the left side (which I'm not really opposed to).

I see it as Anderson, Walker, Bjornfot, Moverare

Anderson just emerged as a total stud, played McDavid better than anyone in these playoffs has
Walker played next to Doughty and didn't look out of place, he can handle 2nd pairing minutes
Bjornfot is good, just very young and was clearly playing hurt
I personally want to see more of Moverare, he's the PERFECT cheap option.

If no one gets signed/traded, it's not an emergency imo. If we find the right fit, great; if not, we can proceed with that until one emerges. I just don't want these guys to blow a wad on Muzzin (unless it's something like Walker for Muzzin) when Edler and Maatta are sitting right there.

If Muzzin is traded, I think it will be for pretty cheap. His NMC will greatly limit Toronto's trade options thus reducing his value.

I'm not even sure how good of a player he is anymore, but I suspect he'd upgrade us on the left side.

I would probably opt to sign Edler or possibly Zadorov if the Kings can't acquire a high end LD that can be here for the long term.

As a stop-gap we could do worse.

I know it takes two to tango, but with our asset pool I'm sure Blake could really tempt someone.

Sign Forsberg. That gives us more winger depth. I suspect that it'll take depth to get Byfield going. A top 6 of:
Forsberg - Danault - Moore
Kempe - Byfield - Arvidsson

should get things going. I'd be happy if QB ended up as a 50 point two way center at this point, but I think he'll be more. 3rd line should be this:
Kopitar - Vilardi - Iafallo

If none of these centers save Danault don't fit, we have no center depth. And look at all the centers we've drafted. Kupari, Lemieux/Lizotte, Kaliyev should round out the 4th line. I'm just not convinced about Kaliyev yet. I think he's got a great shot, but maybe that's all. He fits well on the pp. Blake's got his work cut out for him. We desperately need top 6 talent if we're gonna make the playoffs again.

Why are we putting our top-scoring player who led the team in faceoff % on 3rd line wing? I know Kopi wasn't good to his standard, especially in the second half but you don't just kick him to the curb. We need QB to step up so we don't have to drive 11 and 24 into the ground, we also need Mclellan to trust him a little more.

I doubt Vilardi is here next year.

And if he is, he's been passed on the depth chart.

these were the worlds not the juniors, helenius didn't make the big roster

He has 2 serious injury this year. Toronto fans are very concerned regarding his health issues.

How’s that permanent injury to Eichel doing? Wasn’t he hiding the true extent of the neck problem from the world?

I don't think LA needs to beg right at the start of the off season. It's like at the bar. Early in the night you start by being choosy, but as last call rolls around that changes.

We need QB to step up because he's our future franchise center and if you don't give him the playing time he will bust and then we'll have nobody. Kopi can take a backseat in the twilight of his career.

I agree but can't we accomplish that by playing Kopi 18-20 mins and QB 13-15 mins as opposed to kopi 25 mins and QB playing 6-8 mins or not at all

Not confident with the notion that QB will be getting 15-20 minutes a night next season. I'm not 100% confident he's on the opening night roster. Kid has a LOT of improving and work to do this offseason. I wouldn't count on him until he actually does it. Until then, it's just hope and dreams. He's Bambi playing against men, and it'll be rough until he gets his man-strength. Which could take a couple seasons. Be patient with QB and not peg him as the 2C Next season, it's just too far a jump from where he's currently at.

That's not what Todd and the boys want to do. They want him in the lineup.
