I just wanted to say that was a cool gesture by your organization to honor Selanne. Goodluck against San Jose. :thumbu:

I wonder if Selanne would ever actually use that paddle board? Anyway, hall of fame career, impossible not to appreciate what that man has done playing the game of hockey.

All I know is if Richards doesn't start playing like a second line center at the end of the playoffs, DL has some thinking to do

Having to depend on New Jersey is scary.

LOL Ducks gonna play the Stars.

Who would you put there instead? Trevor Lewis? Carter is terrible at center. His line, when he plays there, can't get out of it's own end. So great, Richards and Stoll suck, but what's the alternative? The roster is set for the rest of the year, so Sutter has to deal with what he's been given.

Carter is not good defensively, no arguments from me, but when you play him with fourth line center (which MR has been since December) you are killing his offensive game, which actually came back to life a bit playing with TT and Pearson. Carter and Richards have provided no offense together for months and they are two of the worst defensive forwards on the team, they have zero business playing together.

And to answer your question, if it was strictly a choice between Stoll and Richards for 2nd line center spot (Carter stays at wing no matter what) then you have to go with Stoll at this point. Richards is either completely done or he is playing through a serious injury, there is no middle ground here, the guy has been one of the Kings worst forwards for months.

Carter centering Pearson and TT is a strong second line regardless if they get stuck once in a while. It balances the rest of the lines as well. I do not want Richards anywhere near an offensive line or against Thornton period. Kings were actually getting more balanced scoring with carter at center. Outside of kopi, the lines were **** today and we will lose against the sharks with the current lines.

Yeah I would rather see Pearson-Carter-Toffoli again rather than see Carter go to waste with Richards. Richards hasn't played himself off the 4th line imo. He's gone back to invisible mode since he moved back up with Carter. I would like Sutter to go back to the lines from a few weeks ago, everything was perfectly balanced, even if the Carter line got stuck in their own zone a few times.

Muzzin was god-awful today. I counted three giveaways, with the last one being that abortion to Beleskey for the Ducks third goal (and I don't make a point to count, so it looks even worse for Muzzin).

Hope we get Doughty back for Wednesday. We are going to need him.

Richards should start the playoffs as our 2nd line center. You have to give him the benefit of the doubt, and no other option has as much upside.

The kid sucks on d. No more kid gloves for him. He's been in the league long enough now that he's gotta know that isn't a play he can make. He's another in a long line of Kings dmen who have the tools and lack the box. Muzzin, Johnson, Corvo...

At least Kopitar and our first line look like they are ready to play a hard fought playoff series. Let's get into playoff mode and shut things down, GO KINGS!

I remember that thread quite well, everyone was down that we couldn't win the division, but I didn't give a **** really. All that really mattered was that we were in the tournament.

Turned out it was the best thing ever happened for the Kings, getting a reeling Vancouver team that just completely sphinctered up and screwed the pooch in that first round series.

And then we were on our way.

Kudos should also go to Kopitar, Richards, Williams, and Voynov for putting together 82 game seasons. Especially Williams and Richards, who have both had major issues with injuries.

Finally got to watch last night's full game.

Really not our A game per se, but if the margin for victory is a shootout when we're missing our top d-man, several posts, and Muzzin being the best player in a Ducks sweater, then it would be an interesting series in round two. Not really mad about anything but giving up 4 technical goals :P Have to give the Ducks credit too.

I thought we did some really strong and creative things with the puck and that bodes well. Kopitar looks ready to be Malkin in the playoffs.

Looking forward to the real games now--it's gonna be a battlefield.
