Hiller , kinda reminds me of Terry Murray, have a coach to bring in structure and defense and then get a coach to take team to the next level, like Sutter did. The problem is we are past that team the needs to be taught and Hiller is a defense only coach and who was out coached in playoffs
The new Gm needs to have conversation with and find out if he is willing or able to put in a new style of play that is more 50/50 and find out why he did what he did in those 3rd periods.
He he doesn't think he's able to, need Gm needs the authority to let him go.

Something DL instilled in the team and fanbase that seems to be partially if not wholly forgotten is its all about the post season. If you run a good regular season and are an obviously clueless imbecile in the post season you are shitty coach.. Period. Coaching against a single team in a best of 7 series is much different set of skills than an 82 game schedule... it requires realtime (either in the moment or after a game) decision making and leadership. And his realtime decision making is probably historically bad.

I’m not sure if Hiller should go or not to be honest. However Robitaille has made very difficult for the new general manager because even though he said it would be his decision, he said he thinks he should stay. So you immediately opened up a narrative that the new GM and the president disagree should he fire Hiller. It is almost implausible that a coaching change will take place.

I would think the new gm would stipulate that if he can't make change this that he would be able to evaluate Hiller and make his decision, Luc really has an opportunity to really go after hot commodity like Darche who really has become hot , the question is will Luc be open minded and allow the Gm to bring g his philosophy. I am not sure Holland would come and keep the style either
