Looks like we got quite a few guys heading to Latvia, tournament is scheduled for May 21st - June 6th.

I would include Bjornfot,Grundstrom and Lias Andersson too! If the Reign weren't in the the playins then Byfield,Fagemo and Kupari too along with Clague

2 pillars of Kings defence with an assist each last night in playing against each other: Wolanin & Maatta. :skeptic:

Trevor Moore plays on the first line with Jason Robertson, who scored the only US goal in the 1-2 loss. Cal Petersen was solid in net, though (27 saves). Matt Roy is an assistant captain for the US.

Not much success for the Kings in Riga so far, with losses across the board. In Canada's shock 0-2 defeat against Latvia, Vilardi was on the ice for one of the goals against, and in the penalty box for the other. JAD was unable to prevent that one on the PK unit. Walker with the second-highest ice-time among Canadian defencemen.

Ha! Another Vilardi penalty, and Trevor Moore punishes him, assisted by Robertson. :D

Canada has failed to score a single goal so far in this tournament, after 90 minutes of play.

Nope, Gerard Gallant. Jack Capuano on the other side.

Trevor Moore has scored yet again (assist by Garland), and it's 4-0 after 2 periods. :skeptic: Zero goals for Canada after 5 periods of hockey. I'm sure that must be a first for Canada on the international stage.

Oettinger in net this time around, rather than Cal Petersen.

The 1st US line of Trevor Moore, Jason Robertson and Conor Garland seems to be clicking very well.

Clearly the Kings are holding Moore back. Free Trevor!!!

Pretty cool seeing a couple local kids dominating on line 1 for USA

Moore's second goal tonight. JAD involved. Can't find the first.

Kuemper chased from the Canadian net after 2 periods, but Comtois has just scored for Canada, so it's not going to be a shutout for the US.

Moore with the goal off a bad play by JAD to corral the puck of the boards. At least the Kings are involved in the plays...good or bad.

Trevor Moore gets another goal & assist, and Cal Petersen gets an 18-save shutout in the 3-0 win over Kazakhstan. What is not to like? :thumbu:

Kazakhstan defeated Finland previously, but in this game, the US fired 52 shots at their net. Petersen was named the player of the game, and Moore is now the top scorer for the US, and no. 6 on the tourney's top scorers list. He has 3 goals and 4 points in 3 games played. (Robertson is 2+2.)

And, yeah, it looks like Canada might fail to advance to the play-offs for the first time ever at an international tournament, after opening it with 3 straight losses. :skeptic: Vilardi was quoted in the IIHF game recap as saying they needed to persist:

IIHF - Canada suffers third straight loss
