18-9-3 LAK vs PIT 13-14-5

Man, how the hell are the Kings doing so well?
They play their trap defense and they have some young scorers…Kopitar is ageless…there’s nothing I hate more than watching the Kings boring play, except maybe watching the Pens under Sullivan lol…think I’ll be skipping this one

They have one guy in their top 5 scorers.

Alex Laferriere

The rest are Meh or older, like 28. Unless you are counting Clark and his whopping 3 goals, Bifields 4.

Byfield, Turcotte, Clarke…
Kempe and Fiala are 28…that’s young compared to the Pens lol…they surrounded Kopitar with better offensive players and younger players than the Pens have …

lol….probably because Jarry’s record against the Kings stinks…edit: nope, Ned’s is worse lol…I guess we just know we won’t match the Kings physicality per usual and are chalking this game up in the loss column…

Strategic surrendering of points to a western conference team

The mild tank is back on!

So, having a lower talent, old roster COULD be successful if running a strategy (trap, ugh) and trading for complimentary pieces rather than random fodder?

Damn. Crazy.

Meh they're in no man's land, wouldn't want to copy what they're doing. They half cooked their rebuild and will have to rebuild the rebuild when Kopitar and Doughty retire.

Well they’re young compared to Rakell and Rust lol…

The Kings are still younger than the Pens…by quite a lot lol
When you say young, I'm expecting younger players in their mid to early 20's not creeping up on old age status. Crosby and Malkin set up their legacies about that time, did you consider them young at 28/29?

Oh, this also started off with you saying young scorers where I showed they had 1 in their top scorers.

*our team slowly raises a mirror*
Pens haven't even started rebuilding. Kings started rebuilding in 2019, did a half assed job and now are at best a 1st round exit.

Some really short sighted moves by Blake. Got Fiala but gave up Faber+a 1st rounder in the process. How brutal. Classic case of trying to short cut the rebuild and instead the team has zero chance to become truly elite.

And yet, whatever Blake is doing, is still miles better than keeping Sullivan til the end of time and whatever the hell Dubas is thinking lol…

Pens are just in purgatory until this core retires so they can actually rebuild. These guys are just on a legacy retirement tour. They probably don't want a new coach at this point so Sullivan stays too.

Dubas will ultimately be judged by how he handles the rebuild. But when that time comes if the Pens are where the Kings are 5 years into the rebuild I'd be very disappointed. Respectable record, but very little upside and not nearly enough talent to win anything.
