He fits in better on PP than Arvidsson.

RV plays a more traditional left circle role, but that doesn't really fit with how the OIl like to use the LW side. Skinner lets them run their usual 3 LHS rotating through the slot and wings; And to his credit, he did well to understand when to jump in and when to stay wide.

I also think a 6'3, 200+lb Philp is a far better fit at centre for him vs. Henrique.

Yeah Arvidsson and Skinner definitely score in different ways. Not to sound too harsh to Arvidsson but he's not the smartest player. He plays with a lot of speed and tenacity but doesn't really pick his spots or find the soft spots on the ice. Most of his goals are him just shooting the puck from anywhere or crashing the net. Nothing wrong with that but not exactly what you are looking for when you already have Hyman on the powerplay. Skinner finds spots on the ice in the bumper and gets his shot off quick from that spot. When he is further out he tends to hold onto the puck and pick his spots. He also moves better laterally than Arvidsson who is more of a north-south kind of guy. Also when Draisaitl is on the right boards, I don't think having a right shot in the bumper is ideal. He can also play where Nuge is on the left side a lot more effectively than Arvidsson can. This allows Nuge to take McDavids spot as the puck distributer.

Hilarious that the media guy who made Garland out to be a hero, is now so butthurt that the shoe is on the other foot, that he is sobbing uncontrollably online. Lol.

This googly eyed idiot makes me laugh every time I read anything out of him Oiler related. Like nearly all Nuck reporters, he's grossly unprofessional and reflective of their fans in general. It shouldn't be complicated to grasp that Oiler fans wish the game was different, but if wrestling down star players is the way things work now then we aren't going to be upset with our guys dishing it instead of taking it. He, and Nuck fans with single digit IQs, seem to be struggling with this.

I think it was during the bubble season, but Nurse got hit high by some Nuck, snapped his head back, penalty gets called, Oilers score the winner on the PP. It was objectively a penalty, with maybe a little bit of a sell job as a finisher. Didn't stop him from ranting about it in his column the next day, however. It was kind of a footnote on the game, but he used up about half of his column on it. Wish I could find it.

Perry got a penalty, didn't he? There's your accountability. A player committed an infraction on a star player and was penalized for it. Novel.

Also of note that none of that happens if Garland doesn't, once again, do something stupid.

I get that this is just a running joke now, but I feel like we really shouldn't forget or understate that it took almost a decade of elite play for Leon to dispell this narrative.

There were supposedly intelligent hockey people trying to claim this as recently as last season.
This season as well. Look no further than the mains. Right now those certain posters are unusually quiet...

Even funnier - reading Canucks fans all mad about how you can't just wrestle guys down to the ice. 😂

Meanwhile Perry literally got a penalty, and like... Did they not pay attention for the last week? 😂
Karma was quick on this one. FAFO.

Man this guy is such a dumbass, or is just being purposely obtuse. Perry said the league needs to protect its stars, not that Perry himself has to. Perry is literally proving his own point that you can have a rat / greasy type player do this type of stuff repeatedly and they just get the occasional 2 minute penalty.

Iain makes Spector look like a legitimate journalist and not another clown. Either way, I guess it’s damn easy to become a sportsnet regional reporter if these are the people they’re hiring lol

Yeah. Somebody spotting the drawbacks of Arvid who is a busy player that skates anywhere and takes any shot he can. Trouble is a lot of plays die with him and he's easiest to knock off. On first shift yesterday he again hurt himself crashing into boards and he was untouched. He fell down as he so often does.

Trouble with Arvid now is his shot is just not good enough to be beating goalies, and especially the range shots he still takes. I mean he's playing on a line with Drai and for some reason he's taking most of the shots. I'd entertain Kapanen on PP as well. Skinner sure had chances last night but he's corkscrewed himself into the ice. He's like Connor Brown now botching any scoring chance. Hopefully its not contagious.

It’s like he ignores context. Perry is a rat like Garland. They play that way because they are allowed to. If they weren’t they would find a different way to play. Perry wants to protect the stats but as long as it’s open season he if going to do it to.

Louie must have some good insight into what's going on in that room
Yeah, Debrusk was crying about it. Like it was a Shakespearean tragedy. Something rotten in Denmark. Just hilarious Nucks are such a laugh giving sideshow. Seems like so many times that org goes off a cliff. Its a franchise fitting for the Wet coast.

Speaking of crying I've never seen a franchise with such a bunch of mops. Petey looking moribund, Bruce Boudreau used to choke back tears on the bench, Garland shouting "your father smells of elderberries" and Hughes having the look of an orphaned kid in a Dickens novel.

If AI designed a club for laugh out louds it would be the cucks.
