Draisaitl is only good b/c he plays w/ McDavid

I get that this is just a running joke now, but I feel like we really shouldn't forget or understate that it took almost a decade of elite play for Leon to dispell this narrative.

There were supposedly intelligent hockey people trying to claim this as recently as last season.

Because those people don’t stay up and watch the games.

Beautiful game by the Oil tonight. Disciplined, moving puck smartly, with authority. breakouts composed, efficient. Offensively making lots of good plays on the puck. Nice to see Henrique and Kapanen get rewarded as well. Get as many guys going. J Skinner could've used a break out there. Feel like he had a lot of chances.

Was a statement game from Nuge and Nurse as well. They both were around this one and savvy good play from both. Nurse is looking dead sexy skating puck around.

Of Course Drai fantastic game.

It's going to be very interesting to see Nurse with Klingberg. Nurse a great 1:1 battler and puck carrier and Lindholm a great outlet passer could give them a pretty springy ability to exit our zone... which could very well mask some of their defensive short comings.

With how good and effective Perry has been this year, I wouldn't be suprised if he is back again next year at 40 years old... at least I hope he is.

Great reading the Canucks forum and seeing them say what a real superstar Draisaitl is compared to their stars lol. Drai getting the respect and recognition he deserves finally.

Yeah. Kostin hasn't found his game though this season. KK seems really to not like this sort of thing. Not sure if you caught it but he dug into Perry at one point yelling at him to get off the ice. I didn't like that from KK because Perry was really orchestrating and getting in Nucks heads. But KK wanted to cool it down. Kk really doesn't like the juices flowing too much. He's the kind of coach that prefers the composure. I thought Perry did well. Let the boys play in a game like this. Oilers earned the right for a lb of flesh in this one and the fans were all for it.

I noticed that, but I didn't take it as strongly as you did... I think he legit just wanted him off the ice at-that-moment and was only yelling because Perry didn't hear him, you see Perry kinda turn his head and snap back into reality.

To me it was just about calibrating the dosage correctly... it was about to boil over, so Knobloch (very confusing to call him KK when also talking about Klim Kostin lol) just turned things down to simmer and got him out there the very next shift.

Did Pettersson even play tonight?

Can't believe that guy is currently being paid 3M more than Draisaitl LMFAO

He had a hit against Ekholm. Not sure he had a shot. That's about it.

Edit : he did not have a shot

Best part is that you know Management is in love with him (or can't get value for him) and are going to trade Miller instead.... Pettersson will be the face of that soft underperforming franchise for nearly another decade. Love it.

I know the media who don’t have Leon even ranked in the top five for Hart voting won’t have even watched our game tonight, or any of the games we have played without Connor, which is a shame, as then the silly narrative that he is nothing without Connor would finally end.
Honestly? Who cares. We are beyond the need for regular season awards at this point. They're all worthless. There's only one trophy that matters.

Anyway, glad to see the boys put the boots to a team for a change. I hope they do that every night.

Figured you’d go with ‘Oilers Neuter Garland.’ Missed opportunity. ;)
How do you neuter someone that never had balls in the first place?;)

corey perry is still elite at gamesmenship, that was a perfect response by the oilers
The way he "eliminated' the Canucklehead PP was classic.
